Workout Rice is nestled in the food court of Gangnam Market, or as we like to call it “Korean Whole Foods.” We came here on a whim to sample a variety of the food court’s options and IMO, Workout Rice was the tastiest one!
We got the Three Toppings Combo Donburi and it was made fresh to order so when I got it, it was hot and fresh. The 3 toppings consist of: WAGYU beef tongue, sliced beef, beef chunks served on rice, and it comes with a side of miso soup, toasted garlic, tamago, pickle radish and cabbage. Everything was so tender, flavorful and delicious, perfect on a chilly Chicago evening. Elevated comfort food! The only reason why I took off one star is because it was a little steep for a bento box at $18. But perhaps it was the Wagyu that bumps up the price. I do wish they gave you just a touch more meat.
