Maybe something other than pizza would be better, but the pizza was only okay imo. The food I tried gets 2 stars, but as I'll explain the location and hours and nice staff pop it up to 3. I got a sausage slice and the sausage was a bit skimpy and the slice was way undercooked, not at all crispy. It also was just really lacking in flavor, i like tomatoes and seasoning, and this was just doughy, cheesy thin bread with a bit of sausage--not a terrible thing, but not a treat for my taste buds, which is what I look for when I eat out. I only saw NY style, no Chicago or Sicilian. It also wasn't piping hot. The slices are large, but not $4.25-worth. The staff is friendly, and the location is excellent--right behind the east-bound 66 bus on Chicago, and across the street from the blue line Chicago stop. I could see going again based on convenience, given the location and late night hours, it would be a good place to sit and wait for the bus, but I wouldn't actually recommend the pizza. Oh, and there's a bike rack...
Read moreSomeone who grew up in chicago, I've seen my fair share of pizza places especially being italian. This place holds a very near and dear place in my heart. I started going here because I used to bartend at Beaumont on Halstead. Someone who used to be in the club industry I believe owned it and it was open super late I want to say four or five in the morning if I'm not mistaken. We would order there all the time they delivered and when I had my son I was at Northwest hospital downtown chicago. Even though it was out of there a delivery area they made a trip for us and that meant the world to me that I will always hold pie eyed in my heart. I'm in Arizona now and I miss this so much. Also the pizza was amazing and they had the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had in my life. If you are debating going to pie-eyed, I definitely recommend you make the trip it is phenomenal. My question now is Ian...
Read moreI have eaten here twice now, both times right after attending Lolla: First of all, I can’t help love the location which is conveniently right next to the Chicago blue line stop. But somehow I had never eaten here before despite living in the neighborhood of West town.
The first night, I had an Italian beef with cheese and hot peppers around 11 PM: probably the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten, and I believe that it gave me the strength to go on despite being very tired and sore from all day dancing
The second night, I had a slice of sausage pizza around midnight almost: also very delicious. It was a very saucy but still not too saucy pizza, generous portion size
Definitely know I will be coming back. Also, I love all the...
