I used to work a a cafe for years, so I’m particular. This place is my favorite! It’s probably the best I’ve had in the city, and their ingredients are good quality. In a world where profit is tops and corners are cut, alglaia goes the extra mile to use organic ingredients compostable materials, all for a good price.
Also- most cafes I know of- even the small ones- have cheap, mass produced bakery options. I just noticed today that Aglaia has many house made treats- can’t wait to try their soup and homemade nutella toast! Food is well-priced and drinks might seem pricey but WELL worth an extra dollar for this vs. Dunkin down the street (no comment); aglaia uses wholesome ingredients and I love to support the owner who is kind. My favorite is the cortado, it’s like a mini (but strong strong) latte! ...

Original post- Way too expensive. A 12oz drink cost me over $10 here. Unfortunately not good enough to be priced that way. I didn’t realize until already paying for the drink otherwise I would have just left. The atmosphere of the coffee shop is cute but I just can’t get over the price especially since it isn’t the best coffee I have had before. Also for all their health and organic stuff they don’t have any vegan options and did not let me use my own cup. I was told they could make a drink in their to go cup and I could pour it isn’t my cup if I wanted? Doesn’t seem like the values...
Read moreI think my original review somehow got taken down? Which is strange, considering it was honest feedback. I noticed this because I was shocked to glance and the five star rating on my Google maps. People I’ve talked to have also expressed not liking this spot. For the one star, I’ll say that it’s a nice space and the staff is polite. However, the times I’ve been there I tried the smoothies, and they were honestly terrible, which is disappointing given the ridiculously high price tag (relative to similar offerings in the city). The strawberry one was so terrible I decided to just throw it away after about two sips instead of forcing myself to drink it. In general, I wanted to like this spot since it’s on my way to work, but I’ve decided I’d rather go out of my way a bit to the other coffee shops...
