A lot of these reviews are not recent, but mine is. We visited this place today after randomly choosing it, and choosing it because of good ratings, we wanted to try a place we've never been to and this is close to home. To start off, the waitress did a horrible job, very unprofessional and when my mother asked for a dish that included one taco, the waitress never asked her what kind of meat she wanted. Then, when my brother and I ordered carne asada she never asked for a temp, Assuming they know how to cook a perfect steak I didn't bother to tell her we wanted medium rare, so we got over cooked meat: well done. I wouldn't call the food delicious, wouldn't even call it good. And OVERPRICED. we ended up paying almost $100 for 5 of us and did not get a receipt. The waitress dropped off our food and never bothered to check back on us, we were literally the only ones in the restaurant, she sat down nearby while she watched tv and talked on her cell phone. I work in a restaurant myself, and I was surprised that this place has over 4 stars. Won't be going back, ever! And won't recommend...
Read moreStopped in for National Margarita day! They featured $6 classic margs this day, which was 1 of the best specials i found across all of chicago. Now I don't typically do classic margaritas b/c i find them to be eother too sweet or too sour. I was thoroughly impressed with these margs & after 2 thwy had us feeling lovely! Their regular price point was roughly $12 which was still good considering quality & size! The glass that they served them in were the cutest also. I ordered the fried snapper. I thought that it was a bit overcooked. Didnt think it was worth the $25+ I should've stuck with my norm of trying fajitas. I did enjoy the rice & beans though. The chips & salsas were really good also! They had a nice spice to them and chipa were fresh. My boyfriend order a platter with tostada, taco & enchilada & enjoyed his. He has pork, steak & chicken. It was out 1st time here but not our last...they...
Read moreThis was my 1st time Here. Ordered 3 Steak Burritos, 2 steak tacos, 2 vegetarian tacos, 1 quesadilla, 2 rice and 1 horchata. The horchata was good, the tacos all tiny for $2.75 per taco. The meat nit seasoned and lots of fat and grizzle. The meat was drenched in oil. They have no green ir red sauce only roasted sauce.
I was overcharged as well.
The inside is nicely decorated. The employee was distracted and missed many customer calls do to the TV being loud and the phone ringer on a soft low melody.
Would I go here again?? No. El Faro is just down the street with appropriate sized tacos and condiments.
I figured I would try a new place to feed the family but sadly everyone was displeased.
My total was $52...
