Don Javi Taco Grill — Restaurant in West Chicago

I can't speak for the atmosphere, we used the drive-thru. My husband ordered the taco dinner, I got a torta and a nachos con carne for us to share. The pricing is absolutely insane - we paid nearly $50 for this incredibly subpar meal, and waited almost 20 minutes in line as well. My torta tasted like nothing even with 2 kinds of hot sauce on it; it was mostly bread. The nachos were packed into one of those styrofoam containers that's separated into 3 for a dinner, so you get like a HANDFUL of chips for $13.50. There was zero cheese (like not even cotija?????), and the toppings were only on the first layer, everything below was plain, soggy chips. The worst part came about 12-13 hours later though - those nachos were the only food we shared yesterday, and we both spent the entire night running to the bathroom. So long story short, don't go to cilantro (at least this location) if you don't want to overpay for food poisoning. Got take out, fish taco dinner. Wasn't the best fish tacos I've had but I don't think I'd order them again. The rice is better than most and the refried beans are the bomb. I don't know what they put in them but they're way better than any other I've had. I was told it's old school authentic family recipes and first location started in Addison by the father who has passed, the kids are keeping things the same and opening up locations everywhere. They make their own chips and tortillas in house, heard the tamales and steak tacos are good, they go the extra mile with free lemon or lime water while you wait for your order and the inside is nice. This is a one visit restaurant for me .i ordered two tacos . For $8 i assumed that the tacos would be full size . Unfortunately i received two tiny little street tacos the size of a McDonald's hamburger bun . The chicken tacos were watery and the juice dripped down my arm to my elbow onto the table . The tacos were tasteless and boring . I left hungry after eating my 3 bite tacos. If i ate enough tacos to satisfy my hunger it would cost me $20 .i warned everybody at work and friends so they don't have the same experience .
