Let's set the stage right. This place literally printed that they are not fast on the front page of their menu. So anyone that says it took too much time just didn't give it enough. First of all, I have so much respect for that. They're saying: "No! It doesn't matter how busy we are! We will serve you fantastic quality food, and nothing if not that!" So make sure to go with someone you want to have a good conversation with for a couple hours.
Moving on, this place seriously just made me happy. A friend and I were going to another restaurant and decided to try this on a whim after driving by on the way to the other place. It was a great decision.
We got 1.50 margaritas, got the homeade chips and salsa, and in the middle of conversation I looked down and said "We only have margaritas, and chips and salsa and this is already f'ing amazing." Now maybe we were just really hungry but it was so true at the time that we burst out in laughter because at that point we knew we were in for a serious treat.
It truly went up from there. I'd go into the dishes but I think it's best if I leave you in suslense. Go and try something from the Honduras menu. Try something different.
I'll also point out how attendant and caring the service was. I can't remember the last time I had a great dinner out and never had to look or wait for service the entire experience.
Really great. I've made myself hungry...I think I'll have...
Read moreRacist establishment! African Americans you’re not welcome!!! I walked into the restaurant, immediately the laughter and talking ceased. There were 5 young men sitting and standing around. (Possibly family and employees of the restaurant.) They stopped and stared and didn’t say a word. I immediately felt uncomfortable. (I’m a woman). I then politely said “Hello”. Only one young man said hello back. I walked to the counter and the waitress asked if I was dining in or not. She spoke perfect English. She still didn’t greet me. Still no hello, no smile, no warmth, just cold unwelcoming energy. Reluctantly, I placed the to go order. There was no communication with me, no estimated wait time, no eye contact with me. Two other female staff came up and avoided eye contact with me. All three women said loud friendly “HOLA's" to every single Latin person that walked in the door after me. I was the only African American person in the restaurant. I really wanted to try their food but I couldn’t bear the thought of giving people that judge me on my ethnicity my money. They don’t deserve a...

My coworker and I had lunch at Cabañas Restaurant and were completely blown away. We tried the Ground Beef Pastelitos Catrachos and the Chicken Tacos Catrachos—both dishes were phenomenal.
The pastelitos were perfectly crisp on the outside and generously filled with seasoned ground beef on the inside. The flavor was rich and comforting, and the cabbage slaw on top added the perfect crunch and freshness.
The chicken tacos were equally impressive—tender, flavorful chicken served on homemade tortillas, topped with shredded cabbage. Every bite was a taste of home-cooked goodness.
Service was friendly, and you could tell the food was made with love. If you’re craving authentic Honduran cuisine, Cabañas is a must-visit. We’re already planning our...
