Cozy Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in West Covina

Updates: Jul 2022: A dishonest restaurant! I wrote $17.37 on my receipt but found I was charged $18.34 on my credit card. The restaurants I went to never charge me more than what I wrote. This is the first one. How can you do business if you are so dishonest?

2 years ago: I used to be a loyal customer but got very offended by the attitude of the lady (I guess she is the owner) who took my order tonight. Before I begin my story, I need to say I am giving 5 stars to the chefs and servers. Called at 7:25pm for a Tom Yum noodle. The lady who answered the phone responded with “that’s it?” in an angry and discriminatory tone. During the 40-minute of wait, all the people who arrived later than I do already got their orders. One thing I found in common though, they all walked away with a big order. It was then that I realized my small order was being discriminated against and placed till the last to be served. It then makes whole sense why she responded with “that’s it” earlier. Feeling is so bad! What’s wrong with ordering only one dish? Since you do not seem up to it, I will not place any...

One of my friends who lived in Thailand for a long time recommended this place to me. He said the pad Thai is really authentic.

I have never tried pad Thai in Thailand, but I can tell the difference between pad Thai here vs other places I have tried.

The pad Thai noodle they have is not overcooked. It's still chewy instead of soggy and soft. When I take pad Thai to-go, a lot of time I feel Iike I was eating a big chunk of the rice ball. Everything sticks and smashes together But this place has a really perfect texture for the noodles and they are not oily at all. Also, the taste is not too sweet like you are eating sweet peanut butter noodles.

I also ordered satay chicken. The chicken is tender, and the peanut sauce is really tasty.

The green curry is really good as well. Very flavorful coconut taste with lots of bamboo shoots. It goes so well with a bowl of white rice.

Instead of ordering lunch special, I ordered the regular size menu pad Thai. The portion of the dishes is pretty good. Two of us can't finish one pad Thai and one green...

Put in a to go order on the way to work. The order got put in at 12:49 pm and paid for by 12:51 pm. (I had to be at work at 1:45, enough time to pick up my order, eat a bit, and drive to work). As we were waiting for our order to be filled other parties got sat. We were the first ones in the restaurant yet second to last to get food. Of the five parties (including another to go order) that came after us, four were given their food before us (including the other to go order!) We were handed the food at 1:27 pm. It took 38 minutes for them to prepare our to go order! 38 minutes to give us our two entrees in a box! The server was nice and the place was decently clean but DO NOT COME EAT HERE IF YOU NEED TO BE SOMEWHERE ON TIME! They will make you late!
