Groovy Grilled Cheese — Restaurant in West Des Moines

I spotted this little gem a few weeks ago and with the catchy name I had to check it out and I'm glad I did. I've been back about once a week to enjoy the owners, and now my favorite sandwich, the #1 or 'The G.O.A.T.' Grilled Cheese. There are a few other options available also on the menu. The owner is a super nice guy and can definitely make a good grilled cheese. Always in and out in less than a few minutes and for the size definitely worth the $7 or $8 bucks. I never knew a grilled cheese could be so 'groovy. If you're looking for a quick delicious bite of an American classic make sure to check this place out. We stopped by on Saturday during lunch time after reading the piece put out by the Des Moines Register on this new place. The shop only offers counter service with a few chairs available to sit and wait, which is perfectly fine we were looking for grab and go food anyways. The line was to the door when we arived with another family plus 1 customer waiting. Service was still great and it didn't take too long even considering there was only 1 person working. I got the ham it up! (Ham and swiss on giant slices of sourdough bread) you could tell the quality of the bread and ingredients was good (my mouth is watering writing this review). Overall the price and quality of sandwich along with amazing service will bring us back in the near future....

Yeah, these grilled sammies make me happy! If youre looking for something reminiscent of childhood on a cool fall day, id suggest you get to groovy grilled cheese for a life changing grilled cheese. Like literally, I was out in the gutters of skid row. Slumming around to survive. I scraped enough pennies together to have a meal. I bought the g.o.a.t. with tomato soup.
