This was my 2nd visit to this coffee shop. The first visit was a drive thru order with no issues and my iced caramel latte was good. Unfortunately this was a completely different experience.
My husband and I both ordered a cheddar and chives scone. They were given to us cold and I had to ask the worker at the counter to warm them up. My husband received his iced pumpkin spice latte. Beware this drink!! It was absolutely awful. Not only was the color an unnatural shade of orange, but the spice was overwhelming. It tasted like rotten fruit that had began fermenting. He brought it to their attention and was offered a replacement drink amongst looks of shock and disbelief. Meanwhile, I still had not received my drink. The had completely forgotten to make it. This night be acceptable if the place was busy, but we were 2 of 5 customers there. When I finally got my drink it was the wrong size. I had ordered a large and received a small. They did make me another one in the correct size.
In addition, the seating area was a mess. We were there on a Sunday at 9am. There is no reason it shouldn't be clean that early in the morning. This is the closest coffee shop to our home. We just moved to the area a month ago so were very happy to have something close. Sadly, this experience has caused some trepidation on our part about continuing to patron this...
Read moreThere’s literally no place I spend more money at and yet I’m happy to do it. They always remember my order. I’m so happy that they open a place in Falls Church even though I was hoping to franchise it myself before having someone else beat me to it. I love that I bring my own mug and they remember to always put it in there. I don’t drive through the drive-through because, it’s so efficient. I don’t need to order ahead. I even left my company credit card there and they knew that it was mine. The next time I came in and had it ready for me. This only happens when people know who you are and respect you and are considerate they’re all the above and I’m not saying that’s just one of the employees that’s the whole team and a big big shout out to the ones that came from other locations here to...
Read moreCompass is Compass - it’s a mediocre “local” coffee chain aiming to be a bigger brand, with scumbag ownership. But this location has a drive thru in an area that’s convenient to some of us where that kind of coffee-and-breakfast on the go isn’t readily available. The nearest Starbucks drive-thru is just below Mosaic, so it is what it is - sometimes availability is the “best” ability.
But let’s be real - their breakfast sandwiches are mediocre at best. Their inventory management is terrible and they are often out of their various non-coffee items. The coffee is fine - depends what you drink I guess.
I will never go out of my way to patronize Compass, ever - especially given their owner - but in a pinch it is what it is: could be worse, could be...
