Sadly, I didn’t get to try the food. I wanted to be respectful before trying to walk through the patio to get to the restaurant so I turned off in search for the front door. There were two parties outside on patio and a dog barking profusely at me the whole walk! The bark was extremely intimidating and made me very uncomfortable. I made it to the front to read a note that said come through the back. I double checked if the dog was on a leash then made my way to the back again. The dog was so loud and I was scared but mostly wondering why no one was telling it to stop. When I walked in the door looking for a table or a hostess at least someone came up behind and asked “can I help you?” I told her I would like a table and she pointed to a very tiny table with the sun beaming right on it. Considering I had just come from a party setup from work and was hot i asked her may I please get a table out of the sun. She says “NO It’s Saturday this is the only table we have just in case people come.” I looked around and there was only one other person in the restaurant. I thought, really! So I asked her can I please get a table with an outlet then (as I was killing 1.5 hours until I walked back across the street to break down party decorations and I brought my laptop). Her response was no this is the only option for you or outside. I said that dog outside is ready to attack me it won’t stop barking at me. I figured by now since she was outside seated at one of the tables that she was the owner. “Is that your dog?” She said yes, and that was it while she stared at me Seeing as though she had no intentions of accommodating me (the paying customer who loves Greek food) or even apologizing for her dogs behavior I left. I mean when a dog is acting in that manor don’t you say excuse me to the person being mistreated or even speak to your dog to say chill out? She, did nothing of the sort then acted as if I was invading their space. I said “clearly you don’t want me here so I’ll take my business elsewhere,” and walked out. It’s a shame because I was just looking for such a company with a food truck to recommend to all my client and keep on my vendor list. I am not bothered by much but this really did get under my skin. And made me take the time to leave my second negative review in my lifetime. For what it’s worth, I’d like to tell you she made me feel pretty bad and poorly treated. After breakdown I took a peek at the restaurant which was still only 3 tables full. same amount as when I left. I thought the older generations had more customer care than what I witnessed tonight. Shame. The worse part is I’ll never actually...
Read moreAwesome sun-filled day!… For me? I met up with a very Godly well-travelled cosmopolitan bro for lunch. Hummus to begin the repast was exceptionally delish, followed by mixed grill plate for him and the koshary (falafel) bowl for me. All wholesome, masterfully prepared and served. Dina and her crew go above and beyond to make a simple routined weekday lunch feel like a Mediterranean coastal outing. Absolutely stunning! As always!

#7/20/2022 — Coming in hot from hard motorcycle ride in the peak of the rising sun and humidity…. Cool atmosphere, quiet vibes, and Cool “Joaquin” (ancient Arabic for “Hey! I’m just barely old enough to find my way home without getting lost! Gimme a break!”) set me back in a quick split on my heavy ride with a box of baclava, and a return to mental sanity (however brief). Once again, Dina’s Divine Deco secured the day for my family. 💛😎

#Update for large catering order on Dec. 18th, 2021 --- Fava Pot, as one of seven chosen restaurants, provided a savory spread for our charitable fundraiser that exceeded expectations and pleased all our guests. Zero complaints and zero issues. Clear cost/benefit analysis by Manager Steve helped me plan the desired menu quickly and effortlessly. Owner (Cairo-Native) Dana and her team went above and beyond to prepare the Egyptian fare exactly as requested, and the catering deliverables came on location right on time. Definitely will come back for future big catering orders.
Fantastic & authentic delish Egyptian fare served in the right proportions that perfectly balance with the excellent choices of beverages (alcoholic and non). The beschemel was our group's favorite, though i prefer the halal kebabs. And as someone who is quite hard to please with ethnic cuisine, i must exclaim that the hummus and baba ganooj is literally to-die-for. In addition to in-location dining and several to-go orders, i have had two receptions on the expansive back patio -- by no thoughts were these small affairs, and yet the staff prepared and performed with excellence, making every one of my invitees feel like a special guest.
A single, final sentence tribute to entice you further? "Truly superb Egyptian foods, smiling owner, eager managers, and...
Read moreSo glad that I decided to try this restaurant. This was my first time having Egyptian food and oh boy, did it taste fantastic!! I’d like to clarify something before I write about the food. In the posted photos, it seems as if there’s limited seating place but that’s not the case. There’s indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. You can choose to ask for a server if you’re sitting outside or order from your phone using the scanner. The items on the app (scanner) are very detailed and each dish has an accompanying photograph that makes it easier to decide what you want to order. Imo, I love this feature. :)
Now, the food — well, you must try the chicken kofta!! It’s simply out of the world — nothing fancy but the mincemeat is tender and flavoured just right that it tastes delightfully homely. We also got the chef’s appetiser platter where you can choose to order three starter dishes. We tried out the hummus, falafel, and the Egyptian style liver. The falafel and the liver both tasted good. After this, we decided to order the lamb fattah and the mosaka with egyptian rice for entrees. The lamb fattah was great — the lamb shank was mildly seasoned and charred on the outside and was served on a bed of garlicky, tomato rice that is (most probably) fried with ghee and crispy pita. The mosaka came in a small earthen pot and was layered with eggplant, ground beef, raisins, nuts, and veggies and served alongside with rice and salad. The point, I would like to make here is that, the quantity of each dish is generous enough for two people to eat comfortably. So, please use your judgement to order accordingly or ask them for a takeaway container. :) After all this, I still wanted to try desserts, so I got the kunafa with sweet cheese. Also, the mint tea tasted so good and refreshing after such a heavy meal. Not to forget, the owner/chef, Dina, was lovely. :) All in all, great food, service, and atmosphere!! Would love to visit again and try more items on...
