I really tried to keep in mind that this was opening weekend but from beginning to end my experience was all around not great. When we first walked into the restaurant, it took a solid 5+ minutes before we were greeted. The main hostess was on the phone, so this was not her fault and completely understandable, however, there were at least 6 employees also standing at the counter behind her. All of them looked at us and then continued on with their conversations. There was even one employee sitting on the bench across from the hostess station, scrolling his phone. The individual scrolling his phone was also walking around the restaurant eating at another point during my visit. Even if none of the individuals at the counter were able to seat us, a simple greeting and “we will be with you in just a moment” would’ve sufficed. When we were seated, we were given regular menus only no drink menu. The waiter only asked if we wanted to try one of the $5 margaritas or paloma’s. We each ordered one margarita and they tasted like mixer only. However, I sort of expected this to happen since they were on a $5 special, so I ordered an app and my meal and hoped that would be better. We got nachos for our appetizer and that was the best part of the whole meal but even that was a stretch as the bottom of the nacho plate was greasy and soupy. Not to mention, we were never given appetizer plates either. We both ordered enchiladas for our meals which were truly horrible. The sauce on top of both of the enchiladas we ordered had a metallic taste to them. The meals both advertised that they came with rice and refried beans. They did not come with refried beans it looked like they dumped a can of undrained black beans on the plate. Halfway through our meal a gentleman came over to ask if we wanted water, which was fine, however he was wearing bracelets that said “i heart boobies”. While I personally am not offended by this, I am almost certain other clientele may not feel the same. I am all for wearing what you want and expressing yourself but that may not be the most workplace appropriate choice. Our waiter was fine. We did not ask for it, but he comped a meal and offered a free dessert but I honestly just could not wait to leave, so we did not order dessert. I was really excited to try this new place but I don’t unfortunately think i’d give this place a second shot especially...
Read moreI visited for an event but to my surprise there was so much more in store! I'll start with parking. There is a very small lot in the back, which was full. I did street parking. Upon entering the building, i noticed that I had a nice amount of space to dine out front. There were two areas. When I entered, the smell of love and happiness welcomed my nose, lol! I was greeted and showed to my sear. There was also plenty of space to dine inside. Very clean, i love the design. I greeted with a house Margarita with a splash of Blue Curacao, IT WAS THE BOMB! Nikki & Scott (I believe the owners) told us the history and about the food they serve. They described their mission as "Bridging the gap between American and Mexicano. They mentioned that almost all of their food and drinks are organic (believe me, you can taste it). They talked a lot about supporting local businesses and collaborating with other businesses. They welcomed us to return for ladies night and other events that they have weekly. Scott mentioned that they served a pretty badazz guacamole. I took him up on his word, and I was not disappointed. I don't know how to explain how yummy it was. The avocado was not mashed but merely sliced. I was a bit concerned, but after the 1st bite, all my troubles melted away. I wonder if they do it that way to prevent it from turning brown. Either way, it was delicious, and I got some to go as well, OKAY lol. The burger and fries were yummy and seasoned well. Nikki and Scott came around numerous times, making sure everything was great. They even made some special orders even though our group was large. Last but not least, we had dessert! Chocolate Lava Cake and Fried Oreos. The presentation did them no justice. I am not a fan of fried oreos and assure you I didn't want to stop eating them, lol. The lava cake was decadent, but the oreos stole the show. Scott also spoke highly of their Birria Tacos, but I couldn't eat another bite. The menu is filled with happiness! I will definitely be back for that, Jazz Night and/or Ladies Night (I think Mondays). I was very impressed with everything. Even the bathroom, lol. Thanks so much...
Read moreOk, so we stopped in wanting to give another try. From the host, the service, the food, and the overall atmosphere are not good. Host, just looked at us, we said two, and we can sit in the bar area. She said ok, bye. Didn't bring menus, chips/salsa as we were told, should have happened. We sat, and somebody came over after about 15 minutes. We ordered a skinny margarita, it was OK, very clear and no real flavor. We did order guacamole, and it came our super salty. The bartender took it and said they were making another batch. 3 times another staff member asked, then brought over Queso after we kept saying we're waiting for guacamole. Dinner arrived... coldand it looked like it had sat for a while. At this point, just eat and leave. Finally got guacamole, bland. The male bartender did stop by after trying to tell a customer why her frozen margarita wasn't frozen. Don't, just get her a new one. We told him, "Food cold, guacamole issue's and overall not happy with service." He proceeded to tell us we just got a lot of orders, and the kitchen backed up... not my problem. Don't tell me that. Overall, it's not a good experience and will not be back. Seeing the same issues we saw before, the new owner took over. Lack of service, seems everyone is disjointed and doesn't know their role, and food quality, they need new kitchen staff. They need to close for a week, regroup. Train everyone and get...
