Bert’s Pizzeria and Mexican Cuisine — Restaurant in West Hartford

I have been ordering from Bert's pizzeria in for over a year and the food has been very good and the delivery drivers have been very professional and friendly. However on 9/20/32. I called the restaurant at 5:10pm, to order a Philly Steak wraps with fries and another side order of fries. The total was $23.50 and it'll 45 minutes delivery time(5.55pm). The delivery driver called me, his English was very bad. I asked him if he was out my building. I think he said yes. I went outside my building and the delivery driver was not there. After waiting outside for about 15 minutes. I called the restaurant and informed them, the delivery driver has not shown up with my order. They contacted the driver and said, he was in my building. I told the restaurant, I am outside my building and no driver has shown up. I was told this driver is driving a black car. Around 6:40, a red Versa pulled into my driveway and l asked this driver, what was he delivering and he responded pizza. At 6:45pm, this driver was still standing beside my building main door. So I went up to him and asked for him to open the bag he was carrying. It was my order. So I asked him why did he tell me, he was delivering pizza? When l got into my apartment and opened my food. My first time ordering this pizza it seemed a little undercooked but the crust was actually nice and crispy and the toppings tasted perfectly made overall the pizza was pretty good and I would like to order it again and also to try different items off the menu, the prices are fair and so far the quality is good, I have not been to this establishment as far as I remember, but ordering online was very easy and they delivered to my home it took a little bit longer than their estimate of arrival that they gave me but not that much longer, the pizza was hot when I received it which is always a good thing and the freshness was excellent, everything tasted fresh no need or warrant for exaggeration, I am not getting paid for this review I am honestly just a customer and the delivery person was very nice also. I'm only giving it three stars because I have not tried more of the menu yet but I will update accordingly.

Update: I tried more dishes, the buffalo wings, Caesar salad and the Italian sampler, the lasagna was a standout I was hoping the stuffed shells had some meat in it but along with the manicotti it was just filled with ricotta cheese topped with a whole bunch of other cheese it is a very cheesy dish that can get deliciously bland if it was not for the lasagnas the meat is so juicy and on point so flavorful, you got to...

Let me begin by saying I am from Long Island, where I think we have a particular type of Italian restaurant that I don’t find often here. Yes, we have great pizza, but all the other dishes I am used to are difficult to find. I was looking for several dishes to celebrate a particular family anniversary. One of the local places had not had their regular delivery and so while looking online I found and remembered Bert’s. I called, and the very nice guy on the other end of the line was very accommodating. In fact, online, they listed they had baked ziti, but he was unfamiliar with it. I heard him talk to one of the chefs, and they immediately felt they could accommodate. I am not all that mobile and I asked about parking; this is a tiny little strip of store, but there was no problem getting a space.

Let me say that the food was simply remarkable. Shrimp scampi, with a very flavorful sauce, chicken marsala (oh, my goodness!) And the aforementioned baked ziti.
