Triple Star — Restaurant in West Hartford

Came here for years in the beginning when it was decent and boy has it dropped off over the years! I think it's a statement when you choose your old takeout spot from Hartford for delivery over triple star which is essentially the same type of takeout place but honestly the quality of the food especially the meats are not good and the prices seem to have gone up in addition which would be absolutely acceptable if they attempted to maintain some standards. No people from West Hartford have pretty high standards on our Chinese food but that said if you're going to have a Chinese restaurant at Bishop's corner West Hartford that delivers, that stuff needs to be next level. Go ahead and charge more Just make the food awesome. I genuinely get better take out at what you would think to be a lesser quality place on Park Street and for half what these folks charge lately. Me and my pregnant fiance went there maybe 15 minutes before they closed. I ordered the boneless spare rib tips with the pork fried rice and my fiance ordered the orange chicken with pork fried rice. Food came out very quick. Very pleased with the timing. The food was so hot and fresh that we opened the containers in the car and it was over from there lol. The rice was perfect. Even had bean sprout in it. Those boneless spear tips was just oooh sooo wonderful. They way that sweet glaze was just stuck onto the pork. Wasnt dry at all. The orange chicken was the prize. Didnt have that mush under the skin. It kept the crispyness even under that sauce. I was very pleased they put actual orange cubes in it. The egg roll was the icing on the cake. They say that one bad experience can ruin your entire view of any business. I've eaten here many times over the past few years. Always got the same lunch special for about 8.50. Today the service was subpar at best. I was charged 11.50 for the same meal because it was the afternoon. Didnt give me a drink or utensils (had to go back for the utensils). The woman at the register seemed too busy with her phone to answer me or even help fix any issues. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I went to eat, I found hair in the food.
