My wife KiTKat buys our sandwiches from here. We been coming here for years. I never leave a review. I wanted to thank them for treating her with respect. We look at them as grandparents, but they also look very young. They are very respectful torward any culture, doesn’t matter. If you don’t have respect for these beautiful people, then you should be ashamed of yourself. They are very up beat, and lovable. Nowadays it’s hard to let a woman go into and establishment without men disrespecting them, or addressing them with there eyes in a vulture manner. She said when she walks into there establishment, she feels safe. And hearing my wife speak those words, are music to my ears. So thank you to moms and pops. I lived in this area in 2009 and discovered this little gem. I moved back to my home state of Michigan in 2010 but still have my whole family in West Haven, so I still come to town every 3-4 years to visit, and when I do? You best believe i am making a pit stop in here for a pastrami sub. 😋 This is 100% the best deli i have ever been to. The man and woman running it are the sweetest people, they always remember us when I mention we are from Michigan, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal. The steak subs? Delicious. The Italian combo? Stopped in here for a quick lunch while I was in the area. Heard good things about the cheesesteak, so I had to give it a try. It was a decent size sandwich and you could tell the steak was fresh. Being from Jersey, the first thing that jumped out to me after one bite was the bread. It was extremely soft, which is something I’m not used to. Don’t get me wrong—I liked it—just wasn’t expecting it. The sandwich itself was good, but not great. Could’ve used a little more seasoning and cheese.
