Scoops Ice Cream & Grill Monday August 29, 2016
The wife and I went there on Monday August 29, 2016 around 1530 hours for a late lunch and to use a Local Flavor coupon I purchased for this business.
Overall the dill pickle was crispy and tasted good; everything else was pretty lousy.
The guy who waited on me said they are known for their cheese steak sandwiches and their menu picture on the front of the menu portrayed this overflowing mound of steak sandwich meat which filled and spread the hoagie roll wide in all directions. There were several pictures of French Fries pictured on the menu all portraying the regular frozen fries and fried to a crisp golden yellow tone.
OK, here is what we received. I ordered the Scoops Cheese Steak and the wife had the California Cheese Steak, each with fries. Both tasteless steak sandwiches had so little meat within the roll it only came about one-third up the roll and the fries were pathetic. Not the type advertised in their menu, we were served a frozen type with skins on them and they were overdone and very brown looking. I hate these type of fries and would never have ordered them if Scoops Menu was accurate with truly what type of food they were serving.
The fountain soda was terrible and we tried several flavors; no syrup, no fizz, just flat tasting carbonated water for each.
I have one more coupon left and I will use it only to buy ice cream which should be good seeing they serve Turkey Hill Ice Cream.
If you like lousy over-priced food and dishonest menu advertising, then Scoops Ice Cream &...
Read moreHad our first experience here for their Christmas in July. As a local, I’ve heard of this establishment often in ads, etc but never realized until our visit the one of a kind gem it is! A perfect, quaint mix of a good old fashioned ice cream shop and miniature golf course. It is very family friendly. Definite asset to the local community as it also appears to support local organizations. Had one scoop of their vanilla - nice size portion and tasted great and refreshing on a hot day. Didn’t try their food yet but looks good and will definitely try in the future. Inside currently closed due to COVID-19 but great looking dining area from what I saw from outside. Their drive thru window and their outdoor counter are still open along with an awesome outdoor eating area. Christmas in July event added to the great experience. Santa Claus was there and restaurant and miniature golf course were all decorated for Christmas. We will definitely frequent more often and we also plan to tryout their miniature...
Read moreUnfortunately the last 2 times have brought me back to edit my review. First time we ordered a milkshake and waited about 15 mins (they weren't extremely busy) before asking about it and then was told "well no one told us we ran out of milk so someone had to go buy some" which had they at least let me know I wouldn't have minded waiting. Waited over a month to go back order ice cream and an order of French fries fast forward to 20 mins later were done the ice cream and still no fries yet all those ebehind us had their food. I go up first cashier immediately says well maybe the cashier didn't ring the fries up (gave me a number so I know they did) after about 10 mins a girl comes and says that conveniently our slip didn't print but everyone else's did eventually after a total of about 30 mins we got the fries and the container was half empty so for us Unfortunately well be looking for a different spot and maybe next year we...
