Luisa's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in West Marion

First let’s start with how amazing our waitress was. Ariana was fantastic. Great personality, always smiling, very attentive. She was the best part of our dining experience by far. Her and the starter bread saves this from being 1 star.

All I can say is if you want to eat your tv dinner in a nice setting at a restaurant and pay 3 prices for it, this is the place for you. The manicotti was burned to the point the edges of the pasta were black and crispy. The pasta dough itself was tough and leathery (frozen and thawed poorly). The chicken parm breading was soggy (frozen and thawed poorly). The chicken is that spongey textured processed stuff like the Mcchicken sandwich chicken at McDonald’s. I didn’t eat the fettuccine Alfredo. It was watery. There was no flavor. And the sauce was somehow grainy. Like flour in water that hasn’t been mixed well or something.

I was very underwhelmed and quite disappointed even for Marion. I know it’s not Carrabas but I paid like it was. Everything on my plate was frozen and thrown in a microwave. I understand some things need to be frozen. I get that, BUT the taste of the food was literally frozen dinner that you get at Walmart in the frozen aisle. We ended up here last night. We'd been traveling and were on our way home from a quick weekend getaway. It was getting later, we were starving, and we had been caught in torrential downpours on the interstate. We had eaten out for lunch at a place that was supposed to be wonderful and it was nothing more than a dissappointment. We walked into Luisa's and were greeted with a huge smile and a bubbly personality. We were seated and greeted by a server quickly. They were set to close within the hour, but we were made to feel welcome and there wasn't even a hint that we were a bother to anyone. Our server was sweet and friendly. She answered all our questions and took our order. Our food came out and it was enormous portions and SO GOOD. We couldn't come close to eating it all, so we packed up over half of it to bring home and we'll have it tonight for supper. Then the check came! Called a week ahead to see if we can order 6 pizzas for my wedding 10/28 for a 4:30 pm delivery. They said to call the morning on 10/28 and tell them the timed order is for 4:30 and that it's delivered through a delivery service. That's fine. As long as that time is doable we would be happy. We called around noon to place the order and made sure it was timed for later. We received the pizza on time from the driver to the venue but the pizza looked like it had sat out for HOURS. It was cold, dried up and hard. I wish I had taken a picture of it but I was trying to just enjoy my wedding. I will never ever go back there. Pizza was ONE thing I wanted at my wedding and everyone there said it was dry and cold. We had almost a whole XL and a half left over pizza that went into the trash because nobody wanted to take it. When someone places a $160 pizza order and calls several times to make sure it can be timed for later, please don't make the pizza right away and let it sit out for hours.
