After one year of not setting foot in this establishment because of waiting 30 mins for two pieces during lunchtime, I finally went in today to try the spicy chicken sandwich that everyone is talking about.
When I walked in, there were two patrons in front of me waiting to order and about 6 waiting for their food. After 5 minutes, the person in front of the order line got fed up and left. The family in front of me puts their order, so do I, and an older lady behind me. The people waiting on their order slowly get their food. Out of the original six, three came back because their order wrong (by a long shot) so they had to basically redo theirs.
Twenty mins in, the older lady (the one that ordered after I did) complains about what's taking them so long. They scrambled for a bit, I noticed they got their order wrong (she was saying "no spicy" and they gave them a spicy chicken sandwich), give it to her, who left without checking. A few mins later, her number was called (although she already had left). The family in front of me got angry, asked for a refund, and left.
Forty minutes in, a few other people had been served and given wrong orders. One guy walked in and said he ordered a lot of food (drive thru) and was given only fries. Another person that was waiting on tenders asked for a refund, but was helped right away. At that point, I decide to go to the counter near the cashier and start telling all the patrons that were ordering that I've been waiting 40 mins (as a way of complaining). To make things worse, shift change was happening at that moment. The cashier was trying to do his best to help everyone, but was being ignored by all other employees.
FIFTY minutes in, the new manager got really mad because of my situation, scrambled to get my order done, and I left. The sandwich was not spicy at all and it was lukewarm. On the plus side, their bourbon fudge pie was pretty good. Will probably go back in a year so I can get my dose of the worst customer service.
People would say "it's the chicken sandwich that's causing all this", to which I have to respond that is not true. I had a similar slow experience before the sandwich and many of the orders that I saw getting screwed up were...
Read moreThe first 3 times I've been to this store (drive thru) specifically were easily the worst times I've gone. All 3 times I ordered a meal and I was given something completely different. Despite the terrible service the only reason I give it 2 stars is due to the fact that the food actually tastes delicious even if it's not what I asked for. I've also learned to check my bag before I get home since calling them won't do any good.
edit: Usually I only give a place 3 times to get things right, but just the other day I decided to try it for the last time. They actually got my order right and gave me some special coupons. It also seemed like they got new drive-thru workers. Its almost as if they read my review before I got there. Of course, I would have to go there a few more times before I can really change anything about the bad experience. But I'm glad they are actively trying to get good...
Read more1st time eating at a Popeyes. Had a terrible experience at a nearby one and hoped for better st this location.
Ordering was a little difficult with communication as the person taking the order had an accent and didn't seem to hear or understand well either. Put in an order for 2 chicken sandwiches and a Pepsi.
Got to the window and tried to pay with Amex. Still not sure what exactly was said, but after asking for a repeat realized they meant Amex isn't accepted. So paid with a Mastercard.
Got the sandwiches but not a drink. Asked about it, and was told I didn't order one and to look at my receipt. It wasn't on there, so I said ok no problem can I get one and pay for it.
I was then told that's not possible because it wasn't ordered at the sign, despite me wanting to pay for it right there. After some back and forth another employee handed over a drink while the other one went to finally make one.
When she came back with a drink as well I went to hand over the card, but she said no charge.
It was pretty frustrating experience, but in the end all was settled... And the chicken sandwich was great, easily a rival for Chick-fil-a I usually get. But being Sunday that wasn't an option.
On experience I'd give a 3, but food wise I'd give a 5... So will settle out with the 4 rating as hopefully this location will get the communication issues away from the drive through window. Will definitely hit up a Popeyes again, they've earned a new...
