Its been a good two, three years since I've stayed here. It has recently completed a total major redo and update of both the physical plants exterior and room modernization, with updated furniture and electronics.not to mention refreshing all the decor and paint. And now has a mini 24-hour store With the basic basics, and a new " pub "as they call it, style.. well I guess the best way to describe it is a combination pickup window style long counter/deli/place to order your drinks by either the person behind it,or the attendant in front of it.Interesting concept.that is working very well for them,as they're seeing an 8% increase in overall traffic, and customers that use the pub in the past 7 months..awesome! The public areas have been repurposed ..more cozy and intimate in some areas as you go around corners and extremely modern looking and inviting in the big public gathering areas .I think they did a great job, it is a Marriott, known to get it right ...that's why they've been around for so long. My room was updated with new everything... furnishings, window treatments ,floor carpeting/tile and fixtures, both lighting and plumbing. They reduced, redid, and eliminated some of the window footprint of the room. which makes it quieter, and gives it less of a chance to fluctuate the indoor temperature to the extremes that the old windows did. The bed linens were excellent .I would say a 7.5 to 8 out of 10 for me .I'm very picky about linens and feather pillows and they really batted the ball out of the park .I'm 6'4 and that mattress ate me up just perfectly with support where I needed it and give where I also needed it,, I don't think I moved all night. This facility is rated either a very high fourth or third tier facility in the Marriott hierarchy. Everything looked upper middle class. The pub/bar drinks, meals and snack offerings and varieties including a pricing scheme that... yes ,was a little more expensive, but surprisingly, was not outrageous in my opinion for the offerings, With the Marriott name attached to it. This included all the redo's that they did to the physical plant, with new tile floors ,color schemes, complete redo of the public areas for the bar and the newly created nooks for more intimate yet public gatherings was very nice and modern ..felt a little bit upscale and what I exppected from a Marriott. I think the room refrigerators should be thrown out the window .they're too small compared to the competition , if you're lucky your wife could fit her purse inside of it to keep it cold lol. The room electronics were brought up to today's modern standards with a nice large flat screen TV that easily paired up with whatever personal devices that you brought to it , but the actual TV channel offerings ,I believe there were 32 in all were dismal at best. I suggest you add at least one more premium movie channel(showtime HBO Cinemax) and overall add more channels. broaden your horizon in variety of what you can offer from today's modern cable systems/ channel offerings, because yours were boring, left me feeling lacking /to go home and watch TV and that's not a good thing when you want to project a home feeling.TV's offerings are an important part of it and that definitely needs improvement. As mentioned a couple times, all the updating and refreshing that they did was very well needed and it did a great job with its execution, but you never noticed it until somebody mentioned to you . .that it was redone ;nothing exciting or eye catching that you will remember about it. And at this point in time , I'm not sure if that was an oversight on their part or part of their strategy to make you feel at home. either way as great as all the updates were, this is a Marriott and I expected a little more high-end in the main bedroom finishings of my unit. The Nice furnishings lacked opulence, improve the linens, soap offerings ,art work, window/wall treatments to a higher standard and get rid of the pumps in the shower so institutional. Overall I look forward to...
Read moreThree cheers and a promotion to an amazing young woman who works at your front desk Jaicika. I’m two previous occasions when I reserved a room at a Marriott brand hotel, and reserved a shower accessible room, there were none available when I arrived. Needless to say, I rarely stay in a Marriott because of that. But because of location, I decided to give it another try. I made my reservation and I used the chat invite on the app to reiterate the importance of getting that room. Not only did Jaicika respond back quickly via the app, but she called me to assure me that she will make sure that I have the room that I need when I get there. She was so sweet and so pleasant and actually sounded like it mattered to her. I’ve never experienced that at any hotel. When I arrived I was, greeted me with an enthusiastic, warm smile, and the words “I’ve taken care of everything for you”. This young woman has incredible customer service skills, the kind you rarely see today in any industry. She was authentic, and most importantly everything about her exuded sincerity. I was totally charmed by her ability to listen and her enthusiasm to make things right for you. When I checked out of the hotel the next morning, I made it my business to stop at the front desk to make sure she knew how appreciative I was, but more importantly To verbally express how impressed I was with how she did her job. I don’t know how the chain of command their works, but you have a general manager in the working there at the front desk. You are lucky to have here. My last words to her when leaving were, you be running this place. Jaicika is amazing...
Read moreThis was a very cheap deal I got (and was worth it alone to add nights to my Marriott elite status), but still disappointing. The guy that gave me the keys and the lobby looked pretty nice, but that's where my compliments stop. The hotel room had a giant dirty red spot of paint or something on the floor for starters. The lights on one of the lamps were originally flickery and the maintenance guy the came to bring the bulbs was basically saying I was seeing things. I asked to keep the bulbs just in case for the rooms and he basically said screw that. Real talk, why are we using florescent lights and not LED lights anyway in 2021??? Anyway, the room overall felt cheaper and not on par with normal Marriott standards. We usually don't feel the need to clean and sanitize rigorously during our Marriott stays (vs. other hotels), but the carpet made the room look so cheap and dirty that it made us distrust the overall cleanliness of the room. The toilet was terrible and didn't flush without needing babysitting. finally, breakfast not complimentary and at rip off prices? PAH, no thanks! Ok fine--my real last compliments I have was that the bed was comfortable at least and I'm happy they left enough towels for our 3 day stay as requested.
Overall, we definitely got what we paid for I believe, and I didn't pay much versus other Marriott locations for the length of stay we had (3 days). I definitely would've been more upset if I didn't take advantage of Marriott's price guarantee and paid full price for those 3 days and didn't also take advantage of the Amex...
