My partner & I bought our mattress from George & Gino, who was the manager, with a good sense of humor, but seemed uninterested in attending to us, versus the other couple who were in the showroom that evening, once we told him, being Gino, the manager, that our total spending limit was about $1000. My partner & I were elated with the bed we ended up having found for us, as we had felt it in the showroom. We specifically told George, the salesman that it was our first bed we were ever buying brand new, & he made NO MENTION WHATSOEVER that this new mattress would feel MUCH MORE FIRM once delivered, as opposed to how it felt in the store!! It's practically unbearable! Therefore, we waived the fee to be able to trade it in (within or after, they weren't very clear while explaining that, 120 days), I believe. George stressed that a grown man, who was quite well built & very strong could not lift the adjustable base we received free with our $1000 mattress. Once delivered, because we were put under such an impression, together the two of us tried lifting the mattress & the adjustable base together & to our disappointment, we easily lifted it right off of our floor. Therefore, we had to not only wait 2 weeks to receive this bed, but also we could have taken home the showroom floor model that day for a couple hundred dollars less & not had to spend money to have it delivered because George also stressed how difficult the base was to put together. We were mislead in every step of our, what should have been, an incredibly exciting & adventurous purchase for a couple starting off life together & as this was one of our largest purchases as a couple, it was a complete disappointment. We are curious to find out if ANYTHING, ANYTHING AT ALL, WHATSOEVER, will be done to rectify this monstrosity of a hellish experience, which appeared to be such a wonderful one while I'm their store, but turned out SO AWFUL in our home. I only can hope & pray the owner sees this, as we have already contacted George & his VERY simple & short response was "give it 21 days.". That would be fine, except while in the showroom we explained our individual needs & wants for a bed being as we both have health issues & we were lead directly to this mattress, after trying out several that Gino had attempted to push out way that were outside of our price range, which again, was made very clear in the initial exchange of conversation upon walking into Mattress Firm Clearance. This mattress we decided upon was on top of the exact same base in the store as it is now in our bed room, but feels NOTHING alike. The first night was horrific while we both were tossing & turning in attempt to accomplish the unaccomplishable. Comfort and a good night's sleep!!! We paid for the red carpet service & that included delivery & set up as well as removal of the old box spring & mattress. Knowing now what we wish we knew then, we very well would have simply taken home the floor model mattress, which was absolutely an offer made, but discouraged highly by both men who worked there & the adjustable base would have easily been lifted by just one of us ladies & loaded into the trunk of our car without the help of the men who insisted it would be an impossibility for us to do so. We both feel duped & as though this problem should be immediately rectified. Mattress Firm, there's the best I can do as far as a review possibly goes. He had me test out a variety of beds and had a recommendation on which I should choose on hearing my needs and wants. He wrote it on a paper and asked that I didn't look. There was no pressure to go with the choice either (since I didnt know what it was).
I was all set to purchase my mattress but upon preparing to see a couple of additional mattresses for guest rooms I happened to sit on another bed, which I fell in love with. Jayson gave me all the info on the mattress and mentioned it was also a great choice. The bed I would have gone with was his choice as well; however this one was love at first sit and "goldilock test". The store is no longer selling this particular bed so I got it for a steal. I included an adjustable base and two additional mattresses. I saved about as much as I actually paid but a good night's sleep is well worth it.
Jason's a keeper, he knows his stuff well enough to make me comfortable in my choice and did it all with a great attitude and personality.
If there is one thing I would say it would be you might want to have an additional agent to work with the two in the store. So many folks came in after me and although they greeted each customer and tried to engage with them (answer quick questions, apologize for the wait, etc.) they were both working on finalizing orders with current customers. Read moreSpent an hour trying out different beds, talking about the different kinds of mattresses, I also had my adult son there with me who was also shopping for a new mattress. We discussed the clearance mattresses, and were told that they were on clearance because people had purchased a mattress and then after trying it for a few days decided it wasn't the right fit and returned it. I bought a mattress for my husband and myself, and also one for my son. Both mattresses were on the clearance side. After two weeks, our mattress was absolutely killing us, it has a hump that goes through the middle of it that is supposed to add lumbar support, but it just adds hip, knee and back pain from throwing everything out of alignment. I called the store and told them that I needed to exchange it for one without the hump. THIS is when they informed me that the clearance mattresses are final sale and they would not let me exchange it. Not during the hour I was in there. The man on the phone said, "it's printed on your receipt." If the sales person would have told me that while I was shopping, I never would have bought a mattress without my husband there. I'm livid that we now have to buy another mattress and have completely wasted our time and a lot of money on this mattress. I will never do business with Mattress Firm again. This was our first and last experience with this company. They obviously do not believe in their own product if they cannot offer an exchange in less than 30 days.
