Let me start off by saying THANK YOU to the lady who was at the register. I drove in from Dallas to take my mother to her Doctor's visit. Being that my mother has had an aneurysm and a stroke, she does not get out much. I decided to have a mother and son day with her. We went to get her a mani and pedi after her appointment and the nail salon took their time with her, which had us rushing. We arrive at Granny's at 1:57 p.m. and i am informed that the dining area is closed. I share with the lady what I am trying to do and she tells me to come on in and be seated. Once I got my mom inside everyone was so nice and accommodating to her and that made her day. She then met this 4 or 5 year energetic, bubbly, charismatic and precious child named Trinity and they hit it off. My mom has a grand daughter named Trinity as well. They both laughed and laughed and laughed. Then there was a gentleman there that was just there working to help out his girlfriend(we were raised right in these neck of the woods). Now to the food. There was nothing that i ate that my tongue did not fellowship with that was not delicious. My favorite was the Biscuit pudding, just like mom used to make and the Banana pudding was as close to my aunt Doll's as could be. Good food, good service but...
Read moreI heard about this place from a friend and stopped on a whim as I was passing by.
It was quite dark in the place especially around the buffet. You walk in, load up a plate from the buffet, and then find a seat. A waitress comes around and gets your drink.
I found it quite odd for a buffet but there was very little in the way of salad or vegetables. On this Friday meat choices were 3 kinds of fried fish, fried chicken, & meatloaf. I had the fish & meatloaf and wasn't impressed with any of them. Potato salad being the only vegetable I found to try, was ok. I did take a liking to the peach cobbler and ice cream.
The buffet was about $15 for lunch with tax and definitely seems overpriced for the quality and quantity of choices. This is a one and done for me but fans of greasy fried food should feel...
Read moreDefinitely sketchy looking but the best soul food restaurant I've been to in a long time. When that brother came out the back with that metal mixing bowl full of freshly fried chicken yelling "hot behind y'all" I knowed there was a God and I was in the right place🥹... My heart started singing 🎵pretty wings🎵 as the chicken fell from that greasy bowl. Then I saw whole catfish fried to perfection and I almost mowed down an elderly couple and a little white boy... yeah, sorry about that. Catfish is to me as that ice house is to Superman- it took me home.
If you're in Monroe LA stop here the parking lot will be full 10 out of 10 highly recommend
Everyone in the back looks like their momma got sugar and pressure issues...the...
