Sabor Peruano — Restaurant in West New York

The food was just okay, nothing memorable. I ordered takeout and walked into the restaurant, but the atmosphere immediately threw me off—there was nothing inside that suggested food was even being served. No visible menus, no kitchen smells, no one eating—just people drinking at the bar.

A waitress named Bellis eventually approached me, and I ordered a fried rice dish. After placing my order, I paid at the counter. That’s when I noticed on my receipt that I had been charged an extra dollar for a plastic bag. I explained that I brought my own large reusable bag and didn’t need a plastic one, but Bellis told me the charge was actually for the plastic container my food came in.

This was frustrating because most restaurants factor takeout containers into the price of the food, and it felt like a sneaky, unnecessary fee. The explanation didn’t make sense, and it left me with a negative impression before I even tasted the food.

When I finally ate it, the fried rice was average at best—lacking flavor, freshness, and the quality you’d expect for the price. Between the odd atmosphere, poor value, and unreasonable charges, I can confidently say I would not...

This is the worst Peruvian restaurant I've ever been in. The pollo a la braza does not taste how is supposed to taste. The salad does not come with the white dressing how Peruvians make it, instead they gave me mayo and ketchup mixed together for the salad!!! Disgusting!! What did they think the salad was?? French fries and tostones?!? I wanted to literally throw the food at these women who work there full of plastic surgeries with their disproportionate bodies. I am Peruvian, and I know how genuine Peruvian food tastes like. I literally wanted my money back. The only good thing were the French fries. The cook does a crappy job. Hoy 12/04/2023 fuí almorzar con dos amigos y al pagar la cuenta la señorita de la foto adjunta nos trató muy mal y y nos corrió del restaurante; nos dijo que porque no dejamos tips, le dijimos que los tips se dejan si la atención es buena y el servicio que nos brindan es pésimo ya que hemos ido a comer varias veces no por la atención si no porque la comida es buena, y preguntamos si era obligatorio dejar propina nos dijo que no pero que su trabajo no es gratis, pues nosotros hemos pagado la cuenta por lo tanto no nos estaba regalando nada y si los tips es opcional no se le puede exigir a un cliente que te dé; ya que si siempre esperan que le dejen tips deben colocarlo como obligatorio y ahí si le pueden reclamar al cliente. Yo también trabajo y los tips se ganan de acuerdo a la atención que uno brinda y el servicio debe ser igual para todos te den o no te den tips porque el cliente no está gratis, está consumiendo y de ese consumo le pagan el servicio a las meseras.

La señorita se puso a gritar en medio de tres clientes que estaban en la barra y de dos más que estaban ingresando, quienes al ver el trato de ella decidieron no sentarse a comer y se retiraron, quizá es por eso que el lugar para vacío y me da pena porque soy peruana y nuestra comida debe ser recomendada siempre, pero por el servicio que brindan en este lugar quien podría recomendaro.

Al final la señorita nos corrió y dijo que no volviéramos, que ella era la manager y si es asi es terrible que el dueño de este restaurante tenga de encargada a una mujer como ella, altanera, prepotente y que no tiene tino para tratar a los clientes no...
