Envigado — Restaurant in West New York

We ordered out two soups that came complete, which comes with the rice salad and the protein. When it got delivered to us, the plates were to the side, so the food was all over the place. And when we seen the soups that we ordered it was a small for 12.95 which is overpriced, especially in the neighborhood that we live in. Then when I proceeded to call, the lady was rude. Disrespectful argued with me. I have never spoken to a restaurant that sat there and argued with me because I didn’t like the prices. They told me if I didn’t like it. I had to deal with it so my daughter decided to go and return it and go into the establishment to get a refund for them to come and only say that the owner has to be there in order to get a refund. I have never experienced that in any restaurant. Then they only give my daughter $46 out of the $49 that they charged and then said that my bank was the one that charges that. Now we all know that our bank doesn’t charge anything is their bank that charges. And by law, they’re not allowed to charge us a fee for them using a credit card machine. So I will be calling and reporting this restaurant. Unfortunately, this was one of my favorite restaurants until they decided to raise their prices for the little amount of food that they give. The unprofessionalism has to change if you are working in a restaurant there has to be some type of professionalism and not arguing with the customer. The customer is always right when you are in an establishment that provides food service for the customers. Very disappointed if you guys want to buy expensive food then this is your place. But there’s so much more restaurants on Bergen line that you can be able to eat for half the price and better quality of food. You guys have...

Time and time again, Envigado delivers FIVE STAR FOOD AND SERVICE! I’ve lived for thirty years in the Union City/Weehawken/ NYC area, been a loyal customer, and this restaurant has never once let me down. I once had pneumonia and Oricales, the best staff member in the world, sent me a large chicken soup on the house!! The cafe con leche never disappoints- it’s always hot, strong and a full cup. The food always arrives on time and is fresh and delicious. My favorites are the churrasco, the fried fish entree, and the egg/ham/cheese sandwiches. Their fresh squeezed OJ is to DIE FOR!! If you never tried the pork belly, you must. The cracklings are extra crispy. It’s not for dieters, but it is authentic and delicious. Also, I highly recommend the bunuelos. They come in two sizes and are crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. With a cafe con leche- OMG!!

Plus, all the bread and baked goods at Envigado is made in-house!! So when you order a delicious Cuban sandwich, the bread is made FRESH- that day, by them.

I cannot recommend this authentic restaurant enough! There are many places now trying to duplicate an authentic Cuban/Columbian/ Latin American fusion cuisine, but only Envigado has been successful in the way they care about their food, and most importantly, their customers. Their staff is always friendly and nice.

I really like the food here don’t get my wrong it’s very tasty and the ladies in the morning are always helpful in assisting me. But I have to write this review because I was mischarged $28 yesterday. My order was a paisita and a small soup. Together it should’ve been about $20. My bill came out to $28 and I assumed I was possibly charged for a bandeja paisa and not the paisita. That wasn’t an issue but the bandeja paisa was missing the chorizo, avocado and sweet plantains. OR I was charged extra for a side of rice even though their menu states rice, salad OR plantain is included with the soup. I’m guessing the girls that day need more training…
