Since i was transfer to WPB I have tried evety single restaurant in the area just about except for this dinner!! It seems like when I did go it was closed. Not sure why but maybe I was off or something. But I can say this very cool old.school diner. Food was about dam excellent. I really wanted the hotdogs BUT could not get myself to get the hotdogs around what the waitress offered. So I order their turkey meal and chicken parms.. yea I got 2 meals. I don't mess around. However if the restaurant is READING THIS. If someone fat guy like me order the turkey meal YOU GOTTA ADD a 3rd slice for the fat guys!! Comon show some love! Anyways the turkey meal was WoW. Stuffing ..mash potatoes had awesome flavor just little weak on the 2 slices of meat. THE CHICKEN parm. I gotta admit the breast was top tier of flavor!.... now the good stuff. wth?? That apple pie was OITSTANDING. It's doenot get any better! Prices were great in my opinion! The pie was only 7 but I would of paid 13$ easy. What a artistic master piece! The pie has stuck in my head!! It mgr reads this I AM COMING BACK FOR MY 3RD slice of turkey and another piece of apple pie! Ty

We found this little place on Google and thought it looked cute so we decided to come check it out. The atmosphere is pretty cool, very 40s - 60s kind of vibe. That's where the nice part of this review ends. The service is pretty bad and very slow. My girlfriend and I ordered the chicken philly and the California Reuben, two pretty easy and quick sandwiches. It took about 25 minutes to get both which is kind of long. When we did finally get the food we were met with EXTREMELY bland food. You could see my chicken wasn't even seasoned at all. It looked like they just warmed up some frozen chicken and melted some cheese on top and threw it in the hoagie. The fries and pickles that came with the meal had more flavor. The Reuben my girlfriend got was pretty bland too. The Russian dressing had no flavor and was very acidic. Bottom line it was not worth the money and we will not be back. You are better off with Howlies or Nick's diner if you want to go to a diner. No clue why this place has so many good reviews.

My son and I stopped in for a brunch (10:40a) after parasailing. The small diner is crammed full of 50's memoriabilia much of it just a couple feet above diners' heads which makes it very claustrophobic (and can drive the dust-phobics nuts). Although we would have preferred sandwiches our only choice was the breakfast menu. My son ordered chicken fried steak, sunny side eggs, cottage fries and toast. Although he said it was "okay" he didn't even it half of it and only took the toast home (which were nice thick slices). I ordered a bowl of chili (which was surprisingly homemade and good), corned beef hash, scrambled eggs and cottage fries. I couldn't taste any seasoning on anything and everything was extremely dry. My hash was seriously burnt and I asked for it to be replaced with an order that wasn't burnt. Although the staff was attentive, the hash wasn't replaced or the burnt issue addressed. I give them 2 stars - 1 for the homemade chili & bread and 1 for the amicable staff.

Me and my coworker stop there for lunch waitress coming on our table no smile and asked what you want for drink, I asked for coffee and my friend coke, she go we don't know where and we saw her coming back and she take the order to the next table of us even they come after us, so we still waiting for our drink and give our order. She finaly come back to our table and asked what we want... I asked her if they have any lunch special and she said you have the menu on your hand and nothing else so I decide to order french toast eggs and bacon and my friend order burger with fries, no thank you and still no drink....she go back at the other table with the drink so I stopped her and asked for our drink and she said I be back....she come back like 5 minutes after and drop our drinks, coffee is so small ($2.75) and she never refill it and coke ($2.95) for my friend . So she bring our food like 15 minutes after ... For me 2 small eggs no cook the way I asked for, 1 slice of bread cut in 2 as a french toast and burn bacon like they make 3 pieces with 1 slice of bacon! For my friend simple burger no cook the way he asked for. Waitress never come back for see if we was ok or refill our drink, she come back when we stopped her asking for the bill, she come back and put a $28.00 bill for the food like that and no thank you and she run away. This place not to clean, service no deserve any start and food is really expensive and small portion, I don't recommend this place, we was on choc for the bill and no enjoy our food and...

Think for a moment about your favorite diner food -- say country fried steak, for example. Now, try to imagine what it would taste like if it were prepared under the supervision of a fine chef with 20 years' experience on Palm Beach. Think about the steak, lightly coated and delicately fried. Think about how perfectly seasoned and creamy the white sauce on the steak would be, instead of being a glop of glue. Think about buttery mashed potatoes freshly made. Think about vegetables prepared by someone who understands vegetables -- done to a turn, rather than scooped out of a steam tray. Perfection. This is City Diner.

I wasn't prepared for what I found at City Diner. Google Maps dutifully sent me there when I asked it for a diner. When I looked at the menu, the prices said, "Uh oh, they've gone upscale." You've seen those places: diners that have decided to Try Something New, and they still call themselves diners, but they start to put shaved truffles into dishes and double their prices. The prices at City Diner aren't bad -- 8 or 9 dollars for most meals, plus beverage -- just a little higher than one is used to. So I stayed and ordered. And enjoyed.

The beautiful thing about City Diner is that they stay with standard diner fare, but they just do it better. No truffles, no entrees sitting in a puddle of sauce, no sauces squirted over the top in artistic patterns. This is diner food. Great diner...

Just changed my review to a 1 star. Lost a customer today. Went in for breakfast and they were busy as usual. They sat two gentlemen before us in a booth, no problem. Another booth opens up, same size, and they tell us they are going to check outside for seating. My husband says he would prefer inside and can we have the booth that just opened up. They say no, they want to save it for a bigger party. The party behind us says they want to sit outside and she says they have nothing open outside so my husband says "can we sit in the booth then?" and the lady says no. Fine, a potential customer was more important to that moron than two paying customers standing in front of her. Keep your booth, we wont ever be back.

Their dinners are better than breakfast anyway, their stuff is overpriced for breakfast items but its a fun atmosphere unless you get garbage service with a crap attitude then its just not worth it. The fact two guys were sat right before us in a booth of the same size but all the sudden we were not worthy of being sat is what did it, there is no logical reason for her excuse and she must just like to power trip. Have fun with that, I will be telling others to skip...
