This is not a review, this is my opinion about Cholo Soy. I am not a chef, I just love eating food that makes me feel great inside. Tacos have never been something that made me feel great inside. I would go to different places and try tacos because it’s such a simple thing to make or at least that’s how they were presented to me. Until I came to Cholo Soy. On one glorious afternoon I walked in and immediately felt like I was at a friend's house. Everyone cooking said hi to me and my family, no hesitation at all. Just like at a friend's house. The place isn’t big but that’s not what they are going after. They welcome you to eat amongst other people, get to know people that are doing the same thing you are. Enjoying these works of art. That’s essentially what you are eating. Just like a painting every detail in every taco has a purpose and not every person will understand the purpose but you can still admire the beauty that is a Cholo Soy Taco. Come to this place if you want to be part of a family. Come to this place if you truly love to feel amazed when you’re eating. They’ve got a taco for everyone, regardless of what protein you like on a taco you can find one that will make you feel great inside. I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, try something different, be different, see differently. If you do you might end up seeing something you weren’t even looking for. That’s a Cholo Soy taco to me. That’s what the people of Cholo Soy have brought into my life. My family and I can be found pretty much every Friday afternoon in the back, say hi, I’d love to meet...
Read moreWhile the food at Cholo Soy is undeniably delicious, I cannot recommend this establishment due to its severe lack of ADA accessibility. The quality of the cuisine is overshadowed by the very real dangers posed to patrons with mobility issues. My recent visit highlighted several critical problems. The most glaring issue is the treacherous step at the restaurant's entrance. While warning signs are present, they do little to mitigate the hazard. My friend, who has some mobility challenges, fell while attempting to navigate this step. This incident underscored the restaurant's fundamental failure to provide safe access for all customers. Furthermore, the back dining area is also inaccessible, effectively barring wheelchair users and others with mobility impairments from enjoying a significant portion of the restaurant. This exclusion is unacceptable. It's disheartening that despite these obvious and potentially dangerous issues, there seems to be no indication that the management intends to address them. Simply placing warning signs is not a solution; true accessibility requires structural changes. If you have any mobility limitations, I strongly advise you to avoid this place. The delicious food simply does not outweigh the risk of injury and the indignity of being excluded. Until significant accessibility improvements are made, this restaurant remains inaccessible and...
Read moreFirst time dining there and I was underwhelmed. I ordered a chancho taco and a pescadito frito taco. $7 for a piece of fish that was the length of my pinky finger and the width was not much bigger, on top of a beyond tiny corn tortilla (which would have tasted a million times better if it was heated properly). It was topped with guacamole, salsa, sauce and onions. They topped it off with so much stuff (to give it the appearance that you are getting alot: which YOU ARE NOT) on top of a tiny tortilla that it made it difficult to eat. It was a mess. The flavors were just ok. Nothing to write home about. The chancho taco was seasoned better but same story, a hot mess to eat and it was $6. Come on people! really? People eating here are getting robbed. I have eaten tacos everywhere, and by everywhere I mean around the world and these don't make it anywhere near the top 20. Infact, you don't even have to go to another country to get better tasting and better priced tacos. I don't know if they feel that just because Guy Fieri went there to eat that that means they are some kind of iconic taco place. It is not. If you want to eat o.k tacos and get robbed then by all means this is the place to go. I for one know better and will not be going back. $7 for a pinky size piece of fish on a midget tortilla????...
