I had a fantastic dining experience at Grand Lake Chinese Restaurant! The service was impeccable, with attentive staff making our meal enjoyable from start to finish. The wonton soup was flavorful and comforting, while the spring rolls were crispy and delicious. The Hunan chicken had the perfect balance of spice and flavor, and the dim sum selection was a delightful treat. The sweet and sour chicken was a standout with its tangy sauce and tender chicken. General Tao's chicken was another winner, with its crispy exterior and savory sauce. And the chicken fried rice was a perfect accompaniment, with fluffy rice and generous portions of chicken. I highly recommend Grand Lake for a satisfying Chinese dining experience! Edited to Add: I’ve recently re-visited the restaurant. I recently visited this restaurant and felt compelled to update my review due to some concerning experiences with their pricing and practices. I had initially been drawn to this place by their variety. I placed a to go order today, after my first in person visit. However, upon receiving my bill in-store, I was shocked to find that the actual charges were higher than what had been advertised online. This inconsistency in pricing left me feeling deceived as a customer. I had taken a picture of the online menu with the prices clearly displayed, and there was a noticeable discrepancy between that and what I was actually charged. Such non-transparent and inconsistent pricing practices are unacceptable and have left me as a dissatisfied customer. I believe that clear and accurate pricing is a fundamental aspect of any dining experience, and it's disappointing to encounter deceptive practices that erode trust. I hope the restaurant can address this issue and provide customers with the transparency and fairness they deserve. Check your receipt when dining here!

The food went from okay to unedible. We started with Korean short ribs. The outside was flavorful but the meat was rubbery and there was a lot of fat. Our plate had about 3 tablespoons of meat. Then they brought out pork dumplings. They had a nice fried side but the inside was pretty flavorless. Then they brought Général Tao chicken. It tasted old. Like it had been reheated a few times. They poured a ton of sauce on it but it was hard to chew. The fried rice came last and it wasn’t edible. It had a rancid odor and after trying it I realized they are cooking with old grease. Grease goes bad. I do want to note this was Monday and there wasn’t much traffic. Maybe the good cook was off and they were reheating the weekends leftovers. Our cost for the night came to right under $80. Also- we didn’t ask for our food to come out spaced out rather than all at once. That’s just how they did it.

NOT FOR THE FAST FOOD CHINESE PALATE. REAL Chinese food dining enjoyment. :) Great hidden gem, go-to authentic kinda feel. I checked out the menu online first. Got the thousand egg Congee. It was fantastic! My first time trying Congee and thousand egg. Next time I'll try more things on the menu since I was short on time. Everything was tasty. Would recommend. I also Loved the videos playing in the background that were in Mandarin with subtitles. Cozy feel. Update. March 2025 Had the shrimp fortune bags Dim Sum and honey garlic chicken entree. Mild flavors but tasty. Worth adding to your list

So the food is definitely some of the best you will ever have. That being said they do tend to get very busy and service suffers. On one such occasion, after being told 15 - 20 mins for my order, I arrived in about 30 mins. and saw a few customers pacing out side the restaurant. I entered, paid for my food and was told there was a delay because they were filling a very large order and it would be another 10 mins. and they would call me, would I wait outside. I agreed and stepped out with the other patrons waiting patiently. After another half an hour and no call I re-entered and asked for a refund or my order. In about another 15 mins. my order was brought forth. I complained and a young man,(I assume a manager) pointed to a couple dining in and said "they have been waiting longer that you" I was taken aback at the remark as it was nothing to be proud of. As I began to leave the cashier, a pleasant young lady offered an apology and said "you will not have to pay for your soup on your next order". I thanked her and left. Tonight, I attempted to order pickup and ran into the 'Young man' again. I reminded him of the offer the young lady made, he became offended saying the only note he has with my phone number is to offer 5% off my order. I wanted my FREE Duck noodle soup as promised. He said "That $13:00, and everyone waited for 2 Hours that night" After some back and forth, he hung up on me. Apparently they are so busy, they ( the "young Man") don't care if they are rude to customers, and in turn lose customers. I spent years in the restaurant business and service goes a long way, sometimes further than the quality of the cuisine. More than the refusal to honor what was promised was his attitude. He blames trying to fill large orders as a reason for making even diners sitting in the restaurant suffer for hours. I am very disappointed, as I truly believe that the food is good. But the overall dining experience has been ruined due to mismanagement and lack of respect of other peoples time. I will not return and will not recommend this place solely because of the poor service and rude treatment doled out by the...

I have been eating at Grand Lake for over 10yrs. (Although, it’s always been take out or delivery.)

I have not found another Chinese Restaurant in Palm Beach County that tastes like real New York Chinese Food or that doesn’t taste like frozen mall Chinese food. For me, this is the best Chinese Restaurant in the area!

The last one that was this good closed down over 10yrs ago.

Grand Lake has always been happy to customize/prepare my order. They will take out items in the dish or add additional items when asked, and never an issue!

With every place I have ever received food from, Grand Lake also has their bad days. To be honest, there’s times when an item is missing from my order or the food wasn’t customized/prepared per instructions. When this happens, it’s not enjoyable, but the owners have always provided a credit for me. And even a few times, they actually went out of their way (at least 20mins away or more) and personally delivered the missing item or fixed the incorrect item and delivered as well! Rarely have I received this type of care from a restaurant.

*Although, the food I do receive is always top quality in taste! I love that consistency!

I love Chinese Food and I am so happy Grand Lake is open. Best...
