Ordered pizza( extra large for we love leftovers 🤣) from Louisa on the phone! Such a sweetheart who is consistently friendly, knowledgeable & knows her customers! She can not do enough to help us when we call & patiently describes new menu offerings or is happy to suggest a menu item we are wondering about! She takes her time, repeating everything back to me on the phone, when I call in my order( tonight) to make sure she has it right! Nick, the owner, did the same thing when I called in an order Wednesday night!!! He is so friendly & helpful and just makes you want to return to this extraordinary restaurant, just as Louisa does! Louisa is a credit to this restaurant & Nick is absolutely amazing in his attention to detail, making his customers ( us!😁) know they are important to him! I am going to Dana Farber in Boston so it feels good to come home, curl up on our sofa with a bowl of their yummy tortellini soup ( loaded with tortellinis & their remarkable pizza! Tonight I called them ( Sunday April 21st, 2024) just to tell Louisa to please let the chef/the kitchen know, that tonight we enjoyed another one of the best pizzas ever! They continually put out a product that exceeds expectations!!! The pizza was absolutely loaded with yummy toppings, cooked perfectly, nice thin crust and my thin husband who usually never finishes his supper, is at this very moment lol!, on his fifth slice of pizza! 🍕 The young man who brought the food we ordered, was as always, friendly, helpful, got here quickly for pizza was piping hot ( burned my fingers ha! and I love that for my pet peeve with other places delivering food is that sadly, many times the food has cooled off! It is most definitely not the case At Sorrento’s Restaurant, I assure you! The young man brought the pizza into our kitchen, was friendly & just couldn’t have been nicer!!All their delivery personnel are like that too. The older gentleman that came Wed. was equally as efficient, friendly & couldn’t have been more accommodating. We usually see these two men who do an outstanding job. My husband got strawberry cheesecake this past Wed. &’Cannoli tonight( both looked amazing but he won’t be eating that yummy dessert until tomorrow ha! for he is to stuffed ha! ) He is thin and he said he doesn’t know where he is putting all that food but he said, he cannot resist their food! 😄We used to eat in their restaurant itself( great service & always friendly !!! After my trips to Boston though it is so good to be able to come home, get relaxed after a long few days & know that if we order takeout. the quality of the food will not be sacrificed just because “we are having it delivered to our home!” You don’t get just a few pepperoni, cheese, etc doted here & there (sparsely) like many pizza places when you order from home but it is “ABSOLUTELY LOADED” with toppings & no exaggeration, believe me! Their pasta offerings are amazing, their grinders, we have tried them all believe me ha! My very favorite dish though. is Nick’s grilled swordfish & grilled veggies ,my sister & I fortuitously happened upon one evening when we stopped in last fall!! I still “DREAM ABOUT THAT DISH!” 😂It was truly the best that both she and I ever have had! The veggies & swordfish were grilled, perfectly too. If you should happen to see that on the chalkboard some night do yourself a favor & order it!!! I promise you, you will be so happy that you did! Love the way they cook their eggplant, their manicotti, lasagna….. let’s just say that no matter what you may order there you cannot go wrong. I need to add one last thing & that is “I AM ABSOLUTELY DUMBFOUNDED HOW SORRENTO’S RESTAURANT DOESN’T HAVE A FIVE STAR RATING FOR FROM ALL OUR EXPERIENCES, WE HAVE HAD AMAZING EXPERIENCES!” We have been going there for yrs too ,so it isn’t a one or even three time deal, where we are giving it the rave reviews we feel, Sorrento’s so justly deserves, from our own many, “ MANY” personal experiences, eating here! Lastly may I say, if you are looking for yummy Italian food by owners/staff that...
Read moreFirst time getting food from here after passing by the restaurant for probably almost 10 years. It was a big disappointment. While our son’s pizza was decent- no complaints, our grinders were not good. My eggplant parm, supposed to be toasted and the bread was just warm on a hoagie kind of roll vs a true grinder roll that gets nice and crispy. This was the least of the issues though. The very thin few pieces of eggplant were barely breaded and far from crispy… it was wet thin slices of cooked eggplant that had absolutely no seasoning and maybe the tiniest amount of cheese. The other issue was… where is the sauce??!! There at best was a tablespoon, if that, of sauce on the grinder. I ate essentially a warm hoagie roll, with 2 thin slices of unseasoned wet eggplant, a tiny amount of cheese barely to be seen and no sauce. My husband’s steak grinder, as he put it was,”ehhhh.” He said it also had no flavor. Last thing that has nothing to do with the food itself but service, was that when I went to enter the door in the back, there was a worker smoking where he was engulfed in a huge cloud of smoke all around him. As I went to open the door, he was finishing up and also went back in using the door near him. As I got the front counter just seconds away after entering, he was in the kitchen getting right back to work…. Ummm no hand washing?? This is just disgusting, and knowing I saw him smoking, think he could take at least a few seconds to scrub his hands. We are disappointed and will not be back. Village Pizza moments away will continue to...
Read moreDined there on Friday10/17. Meal was good. Arrived at 5, ordered pizzas. There were 4 of us. At 6:20 we asked for our check as we were finishing up our drinks. A man in an orange sweatshirt came to our table & started telling us to hurry up as he needed the table. He came back before our bill was picked up by our waiter & started yelling at us that we were taking too long. He screamed at us repeatedly. It was extremely embarrassing. One of the waitstaff started to apologize for him, but he kept coming back to our table yelling at us that we had been there 3 hours taking up a table. This man obviously has serious problems & should not be “ working” with the public.
We had friends at another table wondering what was going on.
We have been going to Sorrento’s since Day One & never have experienced something like this before…. There, or in any restaurant. All eyes were on our table, and it was totally embarassing. We will never return...too many other...
