I’ve been twice. Once I believe on a Monday the next visit on a Wednesday. The Monday meal was great… fresh, juicy chicken, tortillas were heated thoroughly. The Wednesday meal completely the opposite. Very dry chicken, pieces look reheated from the dry surface. It leads me to believe that they are serving previous day pieces of chicken. Tortillas were crumbly, which means they’re not heated thoroughly or are generic brand. I don’t recall ordering off a clearance menu. It was just as expensive, not right.
It lacks a little bit of flavor but that’s the least of my problems. I want same day, fresh chicken.
The inside of the restaurant is clean which I like. The ladies at the register are kind.
I notice only positive reviews are replied to. I’m telling you my experience. I went back the 2nd time because the first time was good. Maybe it depends on time of day you go, that you get off the grill food,...
Read moreI am not in the habit of writing in reviews. On my way from Magna to West Valley I saw Señor Pollo on my left. I was please to see the old landmark resurrected.
This happened to be their opening day. It takes fortitude and faith in one’s self to open a business under our current economy. It is out of admiration for that that I write.
I ordered my lunch the Number 1 Chicken and a Cheese Tamal on the side.
Martha (the owner) works in the establishment herself.
The chicken was throughly cooked and juicy inside. The beans freshly made.
The tamal was good and solid and cooked in doble corn husks.
I had a Jamaica flower drink. They treated me a Churro and Champurrado which is a traditional Mexican drink with several ingredients one of happens to be chocolate.
I’ll come back for the food and the hospitality. Nice people, good food. Comfortable surroundings.

Read moreWe got the Carne asada tacos (6). We got the 3 piece chicken meal with rice and beans. (Doesn't come with a drink, I guess). We got two churros and the Carne asada fries. We asked to try all the chilies salsas.
I don't think it was worth the money I spent. Unfortunately, it was over $50 for so few servings. But I wanted to help a local company. The chicken wasn't that good at all. It had a flavor but was so overcooked that the bones were burned and hardly any meat. The beans were not smashed and had zero flavor, maybe 1/8 cup serving. The rice tasted like nothing went to waste, maybe 1/8 serving. I would recommend the churros and tacos or fries, and the salsas were yummy.
Maybe I just got a slow day. The service was amazing, though. They were helpful, so nice. I will go back to try on a busier day and see if the food is a...
