I would give 666 stars if I could, which would fit well with the horror theme of the place. The menu is mostly hamburgers, but everything is named after something horror-related (such as pastramityville horror or the stranger wings). I think horror buffs would certainly appreciate the menu names. The restaurant is decked out in horror-related decor ranging from movies such as Frankenstein (with Bori Karloff) to Bubba Ho-Tep to Nightmare on Elm Street to other "horror" related memorabilia such as the Misfits and KISS. Rock, grunge, and heavy metal (such as System of a Down and Metallica) provided the soundtrack to our meal.
This is one of those places you order first and then seat yourself. Dine in and take out are offered.
I had the Van Helsing (a delicious garlic burger) and upgraded to the Dracula Casserole (a mac and cheese with bacon that was also very delicious). My girlfriend had the Stranger Wings with Barbadook (BBQ) Sauce and Halloween-yo Poppers. I didn't try anything of hers, but I offered some of mine and her response was "If I knew the burgers were that good, I would have gotten one instead". She was happy with what she ordered until I shared my hamburger.
Both of us would absolutely eat here again, and look forward to the next time we're in West Valley City (we were traveling back home to Southeastern Utah from Yellowstone and I wanted to eat here, she decided this was well worth the small detour).
When they offer Burgertory merchandise, I would certainly buy some because this place was so awesome and made me so happy!
Update: Google keeps asking me for an update so... We still love Burgertory! I think we've been here 3 or 4 times now? I think I've gotten a different burger each time (and they added since the first time we came here) and every single burger has been so flippin' good! This place is consistently good!
I just had the Organ Trail, which is a BBQ burger. It was delicious! I hate being messy when I eat, and I'm always messy with a BBQ burger. But it was so good it was worth it. I haven't watched the film yet, but the burger was messy enough (and I mean this in the best possible way) I felt that if it's a splatter sort of movie the name was well deserved. As delicious as it was messy, I would eat it again. Most BBQ burgers are enough of a mess I don't feel like doing it again, just so you know how I feel about BBQ burgers and how GOOD this one was. (Please don't change anything about it so it's...
Read moreSaw this place in Tik tok and was pleasantly surprised at the location (6 mins from my home). Located in a small complex and the restaurant itself is small. They have horror movie memorabilia lining the walls. The menu items all have witty horror themed names, which really add to the feel of it. They also play horror movies/shows on the tvs.
We went last night on a whim. Got there about an hour and a half before close. The place was packed! Because the restaurant is small, they only have 8 tables, which makes it hard for when they are so packed. They do offer take out, so if you are just wanting the food and don’t care about the ambience you can pick it up to go. They only had 1 worker running the front and bussing tables, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 for service. She seemed over stimulated trying to buss, run food, and take orders. They could use at least 1-2 more people running the food and bussing so the waitress wouldn’t have to run around when they have a line of people trying to order.
The food - so good! I had the Van Helsing Burger and my fiancé had the Burgertory. The patties are a decent size of meat, they don’t do those “quarter pounder” burgers that are flat disks. You could get an extra patty for only $4 which I thought was surprising considering the amount of meat you get. The meat was done medium and seasoned well, definitely did not disappoint. I don’t really love restaurant and fast food burgers so I was really happy with the burger I was served. The Stake Frites were good too, but could’ve been slightly more seasoned. The fry sauce served with the frites was good. We also had a side of Monsterella Sticks which were steamy and had a really good cheese pull.
Overall experience was 5/5. Will definitely be going again, hopefully on a day where it’s not as busy! I definitely suggest if you want the full experience, go earlier in the day or avoid going...
Read moreFriendly staff! Great Burgers! Upon arrival before going inside I was immediately hit with the nostalgia of something that resembled a small 80’s video store tucked away in a tiny strip mall because of the tinted windows layered with horror movie posters….. only with a killer logo sign. After opening the doors I was ambushed by the great carnal tunes as Exodus blasted through the speakers and would make some guests question their decision on going in. Not me though… I felt right at home. Dimmed lighting, thrash music, horror posters…. It’s all a great concept! We got there just after 11am, first order in! 20 minutes later we were still waiting on our food and the place was packed. At first I started to wonder is this part of the experience? Are they trying to starve us by secretly creating a hunger purgatory? Or is something broken back in the kitchen? Did they forget about the orders being placed? Your mind wanders… your belly rumbles… then boom!!! A half hour later an employee comes running out with your food while shouting your name! Finally, we get our food. OMG! Worth the wait! Absolutely killer burger… Hellraiser! I got fries with it and didn’t need fries because the burger itself was super filling (huge hand crafted patties). I felt a little bad for the other 50 people inside waiting for their meal as they all glared over at me while devoured my gorgeous mound of cow flesh to the sounds of Annihilator muffling out my lip smacking. Loved it! If you go to Burgertory… be advised that it’s a little bit of a wait. For me… totally worth it. The place is new and am sure they have wrinkles to iron out but it shows a lot of...
