The first thing you notice when you walk into Kitzie's is that you can't see anything. The lights are turned so low that stumbling into tables or tripping over people is a distinct possibility. Make sure your phone has a flashlight. Seriously, it's stupidly, weirdly dark in there. Atmosphere is one thing. Needing a flashlight to read your menu is just dumb. The service however, was great. They apologized for the lighting at least. The food was iffy. The reuben is really good... and the seafood pasta was also good if a little heavy on the garlic. The fish and chips were OK... At least 2/3 of them. The third one, hidden under the others, was badly, inedibly, burned. A picture is below. It's ironic because whoever wrote the menu used the phrase "cooked to perfection" over and over throughout the menu items. I never liked that phrase. The implication is that the food not described that way is not cooked to perfection... Or in the case of the fish, not very well at all. To be fair, the fish and chips are one of the few menu items without the phrase attached. My advice, rewrite the menu, turn up the lights and cook everything well. Or maybe the lights are turned down in the kitchen too? If you go, get the Reuben. It's on the back of the menu near the top. Bring a flashlight.....

I went here with a guest for a late lunch and had a good experience. The restaurant and restrooms were pretty clean and the food was decent. I had the fish and chips which were tasty, but a little on the greasy side and my guest ordered a crab cake to go which they said was very good. Service started out a little rough but improved after our server was done helping out another elderly diner. Our server was very polite and did a good job checking up. The iced tea was on the weak side, but had decent flavor. Prices are about average for the area and value (quality/quantity) is above average. The decor is dated and the bar dominates the dining area since it's front and center as you enter through the main entrance. The restaurant itself is set back from the road so depending on which direction your coming in from you may have to actually look for it. It's a nice place to stop and get some good food if you're in the area.

They're is a location in spring mills and one in martinsburg rock cliff drive. The building in martinsburg is dark colored and would not jump out at you. Old fashioned dinner Bar feel with really good food. I've had, burgers, crab cakes, Friday fish,... I've only ever gone for lunch. Happy hour starts at 12 ! Food comes out quick, But if you are dining, don't be in a hurry. My only complaint, from the, probably 8 times I've been between the 2 locations is, the lack of personality from the staff. Very monotone. No smile or friendly personality. They are experienced but I would like them to stop and look at me. Wait a moment and make sure contact when they ask, "would you like anything else" Oh, and desserts. They usually have a nice selection of desserts, but I've never had room. Nice place for a small group lunch or dinner, special occasion, or a great burger and a beer.

We have been hearing how good the food was at Kitzie's in Spring Mills. So tonight we went there. The food was fantastic. From the cinnamon butter for your roll, to the salad with blue cheese dressing which had big chunks of blue cheese in it. The Seafood Pasta had Lump Crab, Shrimp, and Scallops in a creamy Old Bay Sauce. The Scallops were Sea Scallops cooked perfectly, the shrimp were spot on, the crab meat was great, the sauce was very tasty and pasta the pasta was perfectly al dente. We also had the Crab Cake dinner. That came with 2 sides and House made tarter sauce. The Cole slaw was very good, and the baked potato was also very good. We had the 2 crab cake dinner they were very well seasoned but not over done. You could taste the crab and the seasoning. They were very good. The plates were nicely garnished with an edible orchid Orchid. That was a very nice touch. They were busy when we called on Saturday night and the young lady that answered the phone took my name so when we got there we were able to go in and sit right down. We timed that good, someone had just left. The staff there are friendly and very helpful. The kitchen staff did a fantastic job. The food was coming out of the kitchen with very little wait time. Our server was also the bar tender. She was busy but was very attentive to us. The bussed was very attentive to getting our dishes as we cleaned them of the delicious food. The portion size was great, I got some for tomorrow. We were lucky enough to get the table by the kitchen so I got to watch Daniel and the rest of the kitchen staff. They worked very well together great communication, to food out hot and fresh. The prices were in line for what you would expect. Thank you to all the staff at Kitzie's for a great experience. UPDATE APRIL 5, 2022. The food is still as good as it was. We had the Fish and Chips and Steak Salad the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server was very attentive but not overbearing. We had a party of 10. She did a great job. Thank you for a...

Unfortunately, I reached out to the owner to provide feedback and perhaps a coaching opportunity for his employees, but received no response. So, here I am providing a review. I was visiting family in the area who patronize this restaurant regularly but were extremely embarrassed by our experience. The waitress is absolutely in the wrong business. As we all placed our order, we were told that item is no longer on the menu. Unbeknownst to us, three of us ordered something that was no longer offered on the menu. This is something that should have been explained up front as well as the fact they no longer serve bread. We didn't find the out until we ask while waiting an hour for our food. We had reservations but what appeared to happen is the "to go" orders took priority. The appetizers and salads were brought out promptly, but we waited over 45 min for the food. It was then delivered separately as opposed to all at once. There is so much more that was wrong with this experience and I know there aren't many restaurants in the area, but I am sure my brother will think twice about returning. To Go orders should not have taken priority. The waitress, was a total amateur with no customer service skills at all. No apologies, no checking on us. I guess that is how you keep a business running in your area when there is no...

Last night my wife and I attended a Quilts of Valor presentations for my friend in the back room of your Spring Mills location. Our waitress was Taylor (TayTay) and I have a serious complaint about her. We ordered our meals. When the QOV coordinator was making this special presentation to my friend, who is a battle wounded, disabled veteran, we shut the door. Taylor opened the door and started talking over the lady presenting the quilt. I understand she has a job to do but this was a very special occasion and would have only taken a minute. It was obvious the coordinator was giving a speech and Taylor not only interrupted her continuously and loudly, she was also slamming the plates on the table, like she was agitated. Through out the rest of the meal, Taylor continued to be impatient, pushy and just plain rude. To top of the evening my friend, the veteran was sign some forms for the QOV volunteer, when Taylor came in and impatiently shoved the bill in his face WHILE HE WAS SIGNING THINGS. She showed us little respect and zero hospitality. She spoke to us like school children and constantly shoved her way in between people and interrupted conversations. I don't know if she's new and needs training or was having a bad day, but she left a very sour note on what should have been a special,...
