My wife, Karla, and I have always been huge fans of Popeyes, especially their delicious and spicy signature chicken. So, when we found ourselves on Hammonds Mill Road in Martinsburg, West Virginia, we couldn't resist the temptation to make a quick stop at the Popeyes restaurant located at 5608 Hammonds Mill Road. We were both eagerly looking forward to enjoying a hearty meal once we got home.
After reviewing the menu, we made our selections: a 10-piece spicy signature chicken, a large mashed potatoes topped with their flavorful cajun gravy, a large red beans and rice, and, of course, their famous biscuits. Karla, who has an unwavering love for Popeyes' red beans and rice, insisted that we add an extra large one to our order, knowing how much she enjoys it.
Once we received our order and they packed everything up, we drove away in our car roughly a 30-minute drive home. The anticipation of that first bite was nearly unbearable as we drove, our mouths watering at the thought of the food waiting for us.
When we finally arrived home, we could hardly contain our excitement as we rushed through the door, eager to indulge in our feast. But as we started unpacking the food, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. To our dismay, we discovered that the restaurant had made a mistake: they had forgotten to include the red beans in the extra large cup we had ordered. Instead, all we found was a large cup of plain rice.
Given the late hour and the distance of the restaurant, we decided against driving back to inform them of the error. We were left feeling frustrated, having paid $4.99 for something that was incomplete. This experience was a valuable lesson for us: if you ever find yourself at this Popeyes, be sure to check your order thoroughly before leaving. It can be quite disappointing to arrive home, only to discover that something important is missing from your meal, as we learned...
Read moreWe ordered 12 pieces 6 legs 6 thighs and it clearly said that on the receipt. The mgr. Female with glasses boxed our food up and I watched her and knew it was probably wrong so when I got the food, which was to go, there were 2 breast and 3 wings clearly not what we ordered. I went back up to the counter and spoke to a very helpful young man who was also who originally waited on us and he said he would correct it. We had to wait about 15 or so minutes for chicken. There was another woman who came in while we were waiting and she must have came through the drive thru she said she had been waiting for 20 mins and she ask about her ordered the mgr. Brought her ordered to her never apologize about the wait just sat her bags on counter and walked away. She is a horrible mgr. In my opinion the young man who waited on us would be a much better choice to manage the restaurant. He was very apologetic he was very efficient and I even heard him tell another customer that was waiting for chicken that it could be 15 to 20 mins. She said that's a long time and I know it doesn't matter to you and the young man spoke up and said yes ma I do care about all of my customers I will let you know exactly how long it will be as soon as I know and once again apologized. In my opinion the mgr should have maybe been more proactive to make sure the chicken was ready I know they were busy and that's exactly why she should have stepped up her...
Read moreThe curly headed young man who is managing right now as I write this review is working an impossible situation and is handling himself very well. He is extremely short staffed, he is out of the number one thing that people are coming to this restaurant for (Chicken Sandwiches), he is out of Barbeque sauce, and he is out of nearly all of his coke products. Yet, I have personally watched him (unbeknownst to him) single handedly run the drive thru, work the kitchen, replenish exhausted food, take orders, call what he needs dropped, run food out to waiting customers and assist his slower cashier that he had working. This young man worked circles around 3 other staffers in an effort to keep the restaurant's customers happy. My order was incomplete and (I Never received my fish that was ordered) knew that the young man who was working himself crazy did not give me my order as advised; I checked in with him at the register. The young man's register was giving him issues and as I patiently waited while he worked frantically tried to work through his issues at the register, I advised the young man..."instead of fish, how about some boneless chicken?" The very relieved young man gladly took care of my order and all was well. To this young man's managers...you have a very customer obsessed, results driven young man running your restaurant at the time of this review... Make sure that you do right by him! Great job...
