Eric was our server and was incredibly friendly and great. The food left much to be desired. We had deviled eggs as an appetizer. You only get 5; not 6 which would make more sense. The yolk mixture had way too much yellow mustard and lacked any Dijon which would have made it exceptional and almost worth the cost. The build your own flatbread pizza was great. Enough toppings, sauce and cheese to be worth the cost. I ordered a burger. The rumsey burger was a bit on the disappointing side. I asked for regular well done with cheddar cheese, lettuce tomato pickles onion rings and rumsey sauce. It came with all that I asked for with only a small smear of what tasted like mayonnaise. The burger itself was indeed well done but definitely tasted like the grill. I ended up asking for more rumsey sauce and that helped with the taste of the burger. The onion rings were nicely done and didn't taste heavy on the batter. The fries were okay. Crispy, thin and definitely fried. Being that it was trivia night, the tavern itself was fairly empty. Everyone was in another room with trivia. Plenty of seating choices and TVs wall to wall. I definitely don't might that. However I did have to ask that the ball game be turned down since it was so loud I couldn't hear the person I was sitting with. If you've never been here before and have no foreknowledge about what to expect after you park, here's the lowdown. Be prepared to walk quite a distance from the parking lot. It's not a standard brick and mortar restaurant. It's inside a another building with other banquet halls. Keep walking until you think surely you're in the wrong place. You'll eventually see the door on the left. I guess the only thing that didn't warrant a complaint was the sweet tea. I would give them another chance and try something else from the menu but with those prices, it might be a while before that...

I saw an add on Instagram for this place so the social media vendor is doing their job for the algorithm.
Finding it was a tad difficult, but there are some signs posted in the parking lot so keep your eyes open. Located in The old Clarion Inn, we eventually parked and walked into the convention center entrance ( left side/9’oclock). Down the hallway we went and eventually found the pub. Granted it was 4:30pm on a Monday we walked in and were greeted by Eric. He was prompt and courteous, even told us about the Monday night Wing night special starting at 5PM prior to ordering.
I had the Sam’s Oktoberfest ( beers on tap were a decent selection for run of the mill local pub). Glass came from the cooler too.
To eat I had the hangover burger and fries, wife had the Rumsey Burger. Both were good, would order again. I’d like to see the fries taken out about 1-2 minutes earlier.
More folks started to come in around 5:30. There is an all you can eat wing night, as our server/bartender Eric advised. ( I suggest advertising this to the local university specially on MNF night).
The spot was a nice little find and not full of the small liberal arts feel that old town Sherdstown has, which was a positive in my book. A good amount of TV’s, University Sports Memorabilia, on the walls and an outdoor patio area is there too.
The plan for the building is to have it converted into apartments so I can see...
Read moreWe visited on a Friday evening after 6:30. Entering in we see several tables empty but most still not cleaned from last diners. No one greeted us, our first visit and it was unclear if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Not one person on staff made eye contact as they passed by. They were all busy so obviously very understaffed. We finally stopped the bar tender and asked, was told seat ourselves. We waited 25 minutes and not one person came to our table, we were never given a menu, a glass of water. Only one wait staff person said he'd be with us shortly. We decided sitting for 25 minutes was too long and we were irritated so we left and went into town to another restaurant. We were so disappointed because we had been looking forward to visiting since they opened. Now in all fairness I know and do understand that most restaurants have been operating with a short staff since 2020. Still, 25 minutes is way too long. Might have been a lot better if a host/hostess had seated us and given us menus and a glass of water. In my opinion that was awful customer service and I'm pretty sure we...
