UPDATED REVIEW 07-09-2023 I'm upset about our service here! My hubby and I went in and the place was dead about 10 people. We seated ourselves at bar and bartender asked for our order, Tony PBR and I wanted tea but all she had was Bottled tea (which I hate) so I ordered a sprite...which is from the well, the Carbonated sprayer from tap and an extremely small 10oz cup (not a glass mason jar) and she charged me $2.50 it was smaller than a 12oz can...come on dudes...usually well soda is FREE or $1 but if you're charging $2.50 then at least make it a Mason Jar...
I ordered 6 wings traditional with hot sauce and Bleu cheese for dipping. Hubby ordered Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger and it cost extra $2 for a side of fries. $10 for a burger with no automatic chips or fries for side....this is NUTS!!! You can spend same price or less anywhere else and get a side included PLUS our fries though Hand cut were burnt and fried in old oil. The wings were hot and good, very wet but I only got to eat one and 2 bites off a second one because I ran out of my "Little cup of Sprite". It was 3:45 and she got busy with peeps coming in for a 5pm pool tournament...and she gave them her undivided attention. She never refilled my SMALL SODA...another reason to put in larger glass LESS REFILLS needed. So with un eaten wings, burnt fries, small cup of sprite, and Tony's good burger that kept falling apart, bun was all mushy...it cost me $27.67... I never felt less appreciated in my life...I know she was busy but less chit chat with the regulars would be nice. There was three people in the kitchen so someone could have helped her. Her name was on the board...I didn't want to share it... I don't recommend but if you go, hope you get better service and better fries...value was over priced for sure today!!!
PREVIOUS REVIEW MAY 2023 After his doc appointment and before mine, Tony and I decided to check out The Mason Jar Saloon just outside of Westover near Morgantown.
Apparently, we hit them at a peak time for lunch, but they have a very large parking lot, two levels. Also the special today (Thursday) was .50 cent bone in wings dine in and .75 cents takeout. Also draft was $1.50
Tony and I ordered 6 traditional Buffalo Hot for our wings with a ranch for him and Bleu cheese for me!! The wings were absolutely delicious ....so wet and juicy!!! Definitely highly recommend and we will be back again!!
Hannah was our bartender and was extremely helpful and so friendly. Gave us the 4-1-1 about the Mason Jar. The pint Mason jars are the $1.50 special and the denial is 11am-11pm on Thursdays....Awesome Deal!!! 6 wings with 2 dipping sauces, 2 draft beers and a tea was $15 with taxes and Hannah's tip!!!
Go check them out!!! Let me know...
Read moreDont expect things on the menu to be accurate. Also dont expect and of their weekly specials to be what they say they are. This place has really good wings when I went a few months ago but when I went to go back everything was different, more expensive and incorrectly advertised. I feel bad for people who dont call to make sure they honor the information displayed on their menus, showing up expecting one thing but for it not to exist, would be a dissapointment. Also why are there 3 different google accounts for this business? The Jar, The Jar & Hotspot, and then The Mason Jar??
Update** showed up for another shot at the bar to grab some wings and fries. Aside from having hand cut fries, this place is very low quality. Also tried to order 2 different Mason Jar drinks(the name of the bar) and I had to not get anything because most of the alcohol, they were "out" of. So i got a flat Sam adams Octoberfest instead. What a waste of money this was. Idk what the point of naming yourself "The Jar" is if i cant even order a signature mason jar drink. The waiter was present but mediocre at best(this was also the person making my drink and cooking my wings????) Why is this place trying to fake and falsely market a brand that doesnt exist. If it wasnt for college students, this place would be shut down. Changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 star after trying this place for the...
Read moreHave needed to write a review on this place. I was going here for a few months, then I was told by Tasha who works there that you’re not allowed to take pictures, I guess because of COVID. I had always taken pictures there, and none of the people working there said anything about it. There are no signs up that you can’t take pictures, and I know I’m not the only one who took pictures there. The owner and a few other people who work there are really nice! I was told I’m not allowed there anymore, and I did not start a fight or anything with no one there. Everyone knows I keep to myself and am polite and get along with everyone. This place used to be my favorite hangout spot, until this stuff happened. If you have rules, please put signs up instead of keeping people in the dark. Someone yells at someone who didn’t know the rules. Or I would have never taken pictures having fun in the first place, trust me. I had no idea of this new rule. Every other bar I went to after this had signs up so I respect that and never take pictures. I had no problem with the food and drinks it was amazing! Just with some people who work there who ban you over something I had no idea about. I can understand banning someone over a fight but everyone knows I didn’t fight there. I always...
