AJ's — Restaurant in West Warwick

Are these good reviews from friends or are they fake or from locals who can’t tell the difference between crap and quality food?!

We try breakfast all over Rhode Island and that was one of the worst we’ve had. Does anyone here even acknowledge that their corned beef isn’t made by them but they buy it in a big ol’ can. It’s God awful. When I asked the server if it’s made in house, she said no, then volunteered that half of the people like it and half don’t. Really? Then maybe if the restaurant cared at all, they should put in a little effort and make it themselves! Hollandaise should have a buttery lemon flavor and be soft and oozy. Theirs had a texture of cheese wiz and had no taste at all. Their cinnamon roll french toast was made with again, not in house made cinnamon rolls, or even quality restaurant depot ones they have to at least first bake themselves, but like the premade ones from Walmart. Their coffee had zero coffee taste.

Service was friendly up front but when she served the food, she also dropped the check and never came by the table again. And to make matters worse, they only take cash? I’m sorry but who does that these days? I get it, you cheat on your taxes but cmon, if you’re going to ask us to be inconvenienced, at least give us good quality food and decent service.

So, if you care about good cooking, skip this dump and go to a place that does like Rhody Hen, Cozy Grill, Dante’s, etc! Stay clear from AJ’s and try some well made food from a business who cares about...

My son chose this place to eat with his nana a few years ago. I joined him a week later and I FELL IN LOVE. I cannot express how amazing this restaurant is, from the food, to the staff to the service and SPEED of the food. I mean, I used to think breakfast was breakfast, until I came here. Starting from the staff who are consistent, friendly and peThey have a variety of coffee flavors...my favorite is hazelnut and unlike other places who offer coffee, including DD's, this is by far the BEST MOST flavorfull coffee I have ever had. It is rare to find a place who is fast AND delicious...this is the place. You sit down and within 15 minutes you are eating. Yes, like all places there are downsides, BUT nothing not worth coming here for. For example, there are times there is a little line and they only accept cash...most likely to keep their food plates cheap and low. Those are probably the only downside of the restaurant...if you even want to consider those "downsides". I HIGHLY recommend anyone to try this place out AT LEAST once...you'll be hooked. Definitely a Rhode...

I’ve been here a few different times and the food is average. I was just saying to my husband how much I enjoyed the atmosphere in this place, but after my experience today, I probably won’t be back. I brought my laptop in with me so that I could do some work as I was sitting and eating my breakfast. Didn’t plan to sit and stay for hours or anything, but this was supposed to be my peaceful Saturday morning time away from home, so I figured I would do some work as I ate.

The woman who brought me my food brought over the check and put it on my table with the food. I didn’t notice anybody else’s checks on their table, so it was just me. It just really made me feel like they were rushing me out, so I just hid the check from my sight so I could eat my breakfast in peace and ate as quickly as I could. There were other tables that arrived before me and were still there as I was leaving. I was kind the whole time, so it was just disappointing to have to feel this way during the time I set apart to be relaxing and peaceful. Probably won’t be back and will no longer...
