Ferrucci's New York System — Restaurant in West Warwick

I wish I could give zero stars. This Tuesday afternoon, I stopped into Ferruccis for lunch with my dad after work. There weren’t many other people sitting in the restaurant, so I could clearly hear the conversation behind the counter between the owner, Michael, and others working. Someone brought up drag bingo, and Michael’s immediate response was, and I quote, “Anything to do with drag sucks. That’s disgusting! If you have a _, you’re a man. If I saw a man in a dress I’d punch him in the face”.

Well I certainly didn’t expect to be served transphobic comments with my lunch. He then gestured to our table looking for people to agree with him, and straight up asked my father (come on now) if he was a man! I don’t quite understand why Michael is so concerned with other people’s gender identity, or why he would consider a clothing choice a reason to punch someone in the face.

Anyways, since he’s so willing to insert his opinion into (thus ruining) my casual Tuesday afternoon dining experience at his Main Street restaurant, I figured he wouldn’t mind if I gave him a bigger platform to let the public know how he feels. Also the food is over priced, literally any other place you can get hot wieners in Rhode Island is...

Wow, I cant say enough how much my wife and I enjoyed our lunch experience here! We traveled to RI from central Ma to visit an RV dealership. My wife grew up in RI, so naturally, we HAD to find a place to have lunch that had hot wieners, clam cakes etc. while in RI. Right off the bat, this place had an awesome local vibe. All the staff there were interacting with the people like they were family. Our server was awesome, and made us feel like that as well. Hot wieners all the way , clam cakes, and fries were all on point and delicious. I really wish i had asked his name, but my wife asked the young man that brought us some of our food if he knew if the local Dell’s was open, and he did his best to answer, a few minutes later he yelled over to another customer seated near us, “hey (name?) you know if the Dell’s near your house is open?” And the man helped us. That was awesome. When we paid and left, my wife was happy. You make my wife happy, you make ME happy! The next time she’s in the mood for hot wieners, I will drive the hour and a half to go to this place, or I guess we’ll just buy that RV and have an excuse to go there more often! Keep doing...

I was driving through West Warwick at about lunchtime and I was looking for some place new that I’ve never tried before. Ferrucci’s was a perfect fit! I’ve never been there before and it’s been many years since I had wieners! So I walked in and ordered three wieners and fries. (I know… Healthy! Right?) I sat myself at a window table, and within only a few minutes I was enjoying my lunch. Crispy, golden fries! Hot and soft and fluffy inside. Delicious! BUT! Those wieners were just as I remembered them from my youth. Hot wieners in those fresh, soft buns. The seasoned ground beef smothered with diced onions on top! Dear Lord!! Ferrucci’s will see a lot more of me around the lunchtime hours. The atmosphere in Ferrucci’s reminded me of that olde-time diner experience. Tables and chairs situated in a way that made me feel like I could have a conversation without the next table hearing everything I say. Roomy and cozy. Almost a Mayberry RFD kind of feel.
