My wife and I were looking forward to this place opening as we first ate at a Dickey's while vacationing down south and liked it. We both ordered the ribs and a couple sides. The ribs were well cooked and had a true smoked taste. The meat was very tender and moist. I had the potato salad and the mac and cheese. I enjoyed both. We split the pecan pie for dessert and we both were impressed with the taste. The price was what would be expected and the service was fast and friendly. My suggests are:
Put a roll of paper towels on each table.
Get some squeezy ketchup-like bottles and some 6-six-pack carrying cases and fill them with all the different sauces and place one on each table. I saw the owner placing a long table against the wall and he explained that was to hold all the sauces so customers can fill a little cup and take it to their table, or to take home with any left-overs. That works too!!
I read some negative reviews, but we have to remember this is a new business in general and a new business name to our area. Give them some time. They are still getting trained, working out the kinks in all the processes, and most importantly, they are learning what their customers and community expect and want from them.
I gave them 5 stars even though there are some issues, but the issues I noticed would be expected at this stage. The extra star is for the sincere effort and genuine concern I...
Read moreMyself and my girlfriend ordered both the three meat platters. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork. Ribs were an absolute disappointment, literally bone, and just fat. No meat at all. Pulled pork- other than being over cooked, mine was edible. Girlfriend's was full of huge chunks of fat. Brisket-both pretty fatty, more than what it should be. Sides however, just fine. In total for the food, it was $56. Portion sizes for all, about $12-15 worth of food.
Update, we called and talked to them and they're giving us a replacement order, so we'll see. I can appreciate this, but quality control and quality of food overall for prices, sub par.
Update #2- Went to pick up replacement. Got a half rack of ribs, we're a bit better. More meat but for ribs they either have a horrible distributer, or something because there's hardly any meat to these ribs. We also got one serving of pulled pork, as a replacement. It was something so I'll give it to them. I don't want to be too harsh on this business, but for the price of the food you get, VS what you actually get, it's awful. Quality control and overall just care for this business isn't there. I really hope the owners read this because if they keep up what they are doing, they will surely go out of...
Read moreHidden gem for sure! I was in the mood for some tasty BBQ around Memorial Day and was pleasantly surprised that I got that at Dickey's! The 3 meat dish offers great variety, and the various barbecue sauces just elevate the food even further. The wings were also delicious - they were so plump and tender and tasted so good with the barbecue sauces! I didn't really taste the "rib rub" of the rib rub wings without sauce, so I just dipped them in the barbecue sauces. Further, even the sides were slamming! I was a little worried about the mac and cheese tasting too much like fast food, but it actually tasted pretty good! More cheesy than spongy, which I prefer! The green beans were also tasty.
I only have a few minor complaints - one is that I wish the portions were a tad bigger for the price. Maybe you get more if you dine in, but the takeout option was a tad limited. Also, the jalapeño cheddar sausage could have used more than a kick. I've definitely had better before. Lastly, the Texas toast was definitely the weakest part of the meal. It was so dry and barely had that savory Texas toast flavor!
Overall, I would absolutely come back to Dickey's - great eats and...
