My family came over from Norway to visit and we met here for lunch. My youngest daughter and I are both disabled. This place was fully wheelchair accessible and they had no problem with my (legit) service dog who was a bit antsy after being greeted by the family we haven't seen in 2+ years due to COVID. She settled down as usual after a short time. All except one of us ordered the fish which could have been better and seemed store bought, but everything else was excellent, the fries, the spring rolls, jalapeño poppers were fantastic (but piping hot of course). The server was very kind and took good care of us. As we were about to leave the bartender (who I assume was the owner) asked how things were and was extremely friendly and very warm and welcoming. Seemed like a VERY nice guy who cared about how our experience was. Back to accessibility ♿️, the one handicapped spot was literally right in front of the door to the restaurant which was very convenient and made things easy. There was a wooden ramp that appeared a bit sketchy but I assure you was in tip top condition and very stable for wheelchairs and feet to travel in or out. All in all this was a great experience, took the leftovers home and fried up the fish the next day and finished it off. This is a restaurant that NEEDS more patrons. It deserves to stay open after so many have closed from such a hit taken by COVID. I feel they might be struggling due to the odd location that is not visible from the street and the lot it's in is pretty vacant. I hope they stay going and get more people in there. Of course they may be doing fine, thus was lunchtime (literally just upon opening) and I have no idea how they do during busier days and times. Take my word for it. This is a lovely quirky little place with skis and skateboards in the rafters and Christmas decor in their log cabin feeling interior. It was very comfortable and the tables are quite far apart making for social distancing as well as privacy from other customers Definitely give them your business. They really seem to deserve it and you won't be sorry. I have no complaints and will definitely revisit next time I choose a place to meet for lunch or dinner. Unfortunately due to my disability and medical issues I don't venture out much at all especially for meals. So this was a nice treat to find such lovely people and wonderful atmosphere! And the food is great, the fish just wasn't what I'd hoped it would be. Everything else was wonderful! Thank you to the lovely waiter and owner(?) bartender for being so patient...
Read moreSo the wife and I went in this place the other night, because we heard about the Philly cheesesteak, which by the way, was not bad. No real complaints there. We were both sitting at the bar, and noticed something odd. On the counter, behind the bar where all the bottles of booze are kept, there stood about 10 or so, large Kirkland bottles, that I think used to contain vodka maybe, ("handles" they are sometimes called...), labeled with different drink mixes. Such as, "kamikaze", "lemon drop", "...martini-dry" if I recall, "apple-tini", I think too, among others. I turned to my wife and said, "not sure how I feel about that". Meaning there were close to 10 bottles of "pre-made" drinks that were ready to be poured and served to people. What??? Meaning they were poured BACK into those bottles to be sold. I guess the reason for this post, is, is that legal? One would ASSUME it is, if it is sitting out in the open like that for the world to see. It just seemed odd that those drinks were pre-made, sitting there in pre-used vodka bottles. I also "assume" that the YOUNG bartender behind the bar, AND the young waitress that also acted as a bartender, did not know how to make those drinks and maybe had someone, the owner maybe, pre make those for future use. Again, I kind of question this.
Other than that, the food was OK, we just had the Philly cheesesteak that we shared, and me being a metal head, I appreciated the "Iron Maiden" motiff, but I don't really like Iron Maiden, but I am an 80's metal head. Not sure if we will be back though.
PS... Regarding a previous post on here, I can see how someone would be waiting for a while when there was just the owner cooking, the bartender, and ONE waitress. One more waitress could have done wonders regarding the wait time. Just an...
Read moreI called in and ordered a Philly and a side salad to go. When I got there to pick it up the prices were not the same as advertised on their website. I asked them why their side salad was $7.50 instead of the advertised price of $4.50 they didn't have a good answer but I said don't worry about it here you go and gave him a credit card. As the girl was ringing it up I noticed that the bottom of my receipt it said "$24. cash $25. credit card." I asked him what that meant? and the bartender said "that's the way the owner does it." So I told er I was not going to pay a dollar more to use my credit card, I would just give her cash. At that time the owner came out of the back room and I asked him why the printed receipt and the cash register both said $23.84 he said they round everybody's tickets up to the even dollar. The girl was nice and I was going to give her a couple dollar tip anyway but I told the owner, "that's un fair to the customer, & that I was against that policy in principal. He took the bag of food away from me and placed it behind the bar. I told him it's no wonder your whole establishment has not one single customer on a Saturday night at 9:00,, 2 hours before closing time. I told him he lost a customer for $0.16 and left. I am a retired 65-year-old petroleum engineer and have never been so mistreated and disrespected at any establishment in my whole life. I went down the road to 89th at the Hoffbrau and got a better quality Philly with free French fries instead of $5.00 e tra. Hoffbrau was packed with an...
