Was visiting California and my younger brother wanted Bambu, which we already have in Oregon and I work at the Portland, Oregon location. Before we even spoke, the lady at the cash register already looked annoyed and irritated. Being a customer service worker myself, I didn’t pay any mind to it because she probably is having a bad day at work so I just started my order as any regular day. While ordering, she was giving me and my mom attitude. Again, I was like ok, she might just having a bad day, let’s let go of it. I ordered my drink the Bambu refresher, and she said I was wrong and that the drink I wanted was another drink. That made me confused because I work at a Bambu and the thing that I ordered was on the menu there (I made sure before ordering that it was on the menu since I know different locations may have different menus). She argued with me, saying that it was their #1, which I know is their Bambu special but I did not want the Bambu special, I wanted the Bambu Refresher which was 14 . I said okay, whatever I’ll believe her since she works there. The drink comes out and it’s not what we ordered. And I told her, kindly and not in any condescending or rude way, “hey, sorry, this isn’t what we wanted/ordered” and then she went crazy and started blaming us, saying it’s our fault and that what we wanted was #1. She didn’t believe us that we ordered something else and gave us the menu to show her, which we did, and then she refused to admit she was wrong and said “they’re both the same things” and we were like no…. The one on the menu, the image, does not contain longan and it doesn’t contain pandan jelly either, which the #1 (Bambu special) does and we did not want the #1. We ordered the #14 to begin with. But she says the Bambu Refresher (#14) is the same thing as the Bambu Special (#1)????? My mom was upset but I just said let it go, and we left without arguing any further since the worker was getting mad. I was told by so much people (even my boss at the Bambu location in Portland) that California Bambu service is so much more different than Oregon, so I guess I’ll tell them I finally experienced it LOL. Can’t tell if that lady was the boss or not, but if she was.. well, good thing I’m not working at that...

It stinks like cigarette the minute you walk in which made me nauseous .the waffle TAKES FOREVER so dont be in a hurry if you gonna order those . The vietnamese coffee is grossly overpriced overly sweet and more for tourist .20$ spend for 2 coffee and 2 waffles im better off goin to a local mom and pop vietnamese restaurent or che cali . This place is more for hipster if anything . The coffee was weak and extremely disappointed . The waffle were meh and they got the nerve to charhe extra if you want to add on coconut . Seriously this place is so overpriced and so not worth the money you are paying wont be going back .not to mention the staff and customer service isnt all that .... the sitting area outdoor is small narrow with view of a parking lot . Not good for a date , romantic time or anything really .... its loud inside can barely hear the person next to you . Not the most relaxing atmosphere . Its mainly a bunch of retire old men with nothing else to do of their day just hanging there .there are many better TRUE vietnamese place around this isnt it unless you are looking to get diabetes and...
Read moreThe Che is terrible. Service is not much better. Went to this place for the first time today. Although the menu lists their drinks as "Che", the Vietnamese tranditional sweet desserts. It tasted nothing like Che. They charged $3.50 for a what they called Che, but it is nothing with a few beans and some green jello and over-flow ground ice. My Che was so freaking dry, I went back and asked them for some sugary juice, explaining to the cashier and the girl who made my Che that my dessert was so dry, it has nothing but ice in it, making it impossible to mix and eat. The kitchen girl rudely responded "No!". So, I asked her "why not", to which she tersely said "It's 50 cents to add some juice." I've eaten Che all my life, and if a particular Che is served with ice it has always been made with sugary sweet liquid. This place doesn't know how to make Che. Not only the workers are rude and condescending. I will never come back here for Che. That's for sure. I'll go to Che Hien Khanh. Or, any Che at any boba drink place is still better than the Che...
