If you do go, check out the bartender and the music. If itās a wannabe hipster squid with a man bun, and there is Joni Mitchell cranked, just walk out.
Bartender ruins it. Great food, Great value for the price, large beer menu. Bad music. LOUD music. Went there this past Sunday nite for dinner, looking to hang out, drink, and eat for a few hours. We placed our order, thinking the music would change soon, like every bar. The bartender is a 20 something dirty hipster, complete with dirty hair bun. Joni Mitchell songs, Crosby Stills & Nashās, Bob Marley, CRANKED up to 11. Who does that? Our table, and the tables on either side of us complained. Even the table of 4 old hippies laffed and said it was too much! The waitresses explained itās the bartenders playlist, and his friends are over, and he wonāt change it.
One of our party did not want to wait for the waitress, so went right to the bar to get the first round. The bar was only at half capacity, and 6 seats were occupied by the bartenders loser friends. The bartender could not tear himself away from his high school buddies. He was not getting anybody drinks. After a solid 5 minutes of waving cash, our guy gave up. The bar lost out on $3-400 worth of drinks we would have bought that night. And that would have been consistent if we had made this our weekly hangout.
When the waitress came back to ask us how everything was, we just asked for the check. Actually, we had to SHOUT for it. We were looking forward to sampling the extensive craft beer menu, but were so annoyed we did not even finish our meal. Get us out of here!
The fun continued outside. On the sidewalk, dirty hair bun dude is crowding the exit, smoking butts with his 6 d-bag friends. To exit, we had to go thru the smoke cloud. Blatant disregard of MA state law. They eyeball the hot chicks in our group, but canāt be bothered to get out of our way. Without even taking the butt out of his mouth āTHANK YOU GUYS COME AGAINā the filthy bartender shouts as an afterthought. The women were completely skeeved out. Never coming back. Never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live in the area but never tried Blueprint until tonight.....sorry I did. The previous reviews using words like excellent and great to describe this place cannot be legit and so far from my experience!
When we arrived the hostess was on the phone so we had to wait to be seated. No big deal...gave us the chance to notice the overhead lighting fixtures had a ton of dead bugs in them and are covered in dust. I mean so much dust that the AC unit was blowing the dust off them.
Once seated our server came by to take our drink order. As we waited for our drinks we looked at the dinner menu and I decided to order the special for the night. Eventually the server came back with our drinks...which I can only assume were sitting on the bar for awhile waiting for her as the beer was no longer cold and the drink had so much condensation on the glass it was soaked.
We placed our orders and I was told they were out of the special.....why give us the special menu then?
I ordered the wings instead. The wait for our food was incredibly long...prompting our server to make a rare appearance at our table to let us know the kitchen is backed up tonight..."No one wants to cook". Given that the restaurant was only about half full....I can only assume she meant the kitchen staff didn't want to cook and not that they were so busy.
The wings consisted of fried chicken with a bottle of Frank's Hot Sauce hastily thrown on it with little chunks of frozen pieces in the middle. Since the server already made her 1 time appearance at our table, I was left with going to the empty tables to gather napkins to clean off all the sauce...good thing there were plenty of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirehouse burger. I came back next week to verify. Both burgers had exceptionally toasted burger that tasted great at every bite. I choose medium. The jalapenos were individually breaded and fried and complemented the burger, which also had good lettuce and good tomato. The sauce was great and each bite hit the pallet dynamically. It wasnt spicy, it had the depth of a tavern burger and the bread of the bun was done properly. The toppings complimented and added the top to the flavor. The French fries were very toasty and all hot and delicious like you would get from checkers yet just a bit better. The onion rings are the thin onion ring bits which are good with the burger or dipped in the drippings. The reason I lowered the service is because the first time I asked for a side of mayo and didnt recieve it for the french fries. I like to put a lot of cracked black pepper in mayo and eat it with fries. Then the second time I visited I asked for a side of the bang bang sauce for the fries and talked about it three times, then I recieved the Asian sauce for the shrimp, not the burger sauce and something that one would recommend for onion rings or fries. Great tavern burger. I read it had only one review on Yelp for 3/5 and the customer critiqued the grease and the overall heat of the burger, they clearly dont know what they are talking about but if they want that kind of heat there is a pizza oven in reading that stone fires pizzas with whole toasted jalapenos on them. Great...
