Disappointed in the service I received today, and the confusion of information shared while trying to get a pick up order. Earlier in the day i went to lunch w my dad who was craving posole and he recalled that he ordered it here once b4 and liked it. As you walk in the door a sign brags about it being available, w/o any restrictions on days, but apparently is only made on weekends. We were there Friday. The waitress said it would be ready by 5:00 for the weekend. We had lunch but I decided to surprise my dad and get him a bowl for later so I called ar 5:00 and distinctly asked b4 driving there if it was ready and was informed it was and to ge there in 10 minutes. When I arrived the manager said the person answering the phone didn't know they didn't have it. The manager said he was trying to call me back but that didn't make sense since my cell phone had no calls during my drive. It seems that there is ownership and name change in process but they got to get their act together if they want to seem trustworthy and reliable. The manager didn't seem concerned but did offer an apology which is what I would expect at a minimum.I turned my family onto this place but now have to rethink whether this is a place that should remain on my radar to patronage or suggest to others since they didn't care about my time or manage the situation...
Read moreI am ranked as a local guide and have enjoyed writing reviews of restaurants. Dos Patrias, owned by Mauricio, provides excellent food comprised of fresh quality ingredients - served colorfully on a full plate to satisfy the heartiest of appetites. I was seated at a comfortable table for four and everyone at our table really enjoyed their meals - which was central to heightening the quality of our shared experience on a Saturday evening!
The margaritas are huge and made to pack a punch! There is a bar for folks who prefer to sit and experience a bar experience similar to popular restaurants in Mexico City. If you want to experience what it's like to be in a family-run restaurant in Mexico, Dos Patrias is the place to take you on a journey - food, drink and setting wise!
While at Dos Patrias, Mauricio may visit with you briefly at your table. The owner is charming and engaging. Mauricio will contribute to you feeling a sense of belonging. Mauricio's daughters and staff appear happy to receive guests and are excellent hosts.
Dos Patrias has an excellent outdoor patio for large parties and for just enjoying the last days of summer! If you're searching for a restaurant that will please your palate, look no further than Dos Patrias. If you're looking for a restaurant to enjoy a few margaritas with co-workers after a long day of work, look no further than Dos Patrias. And if you're like me - a chips and salsa aficionado - who likes to drink beer imported from Mexico, look no further than Dos Patrias!!!
I live in Colorado Springs and am planning to visit Dos Patrias again, very soon! I have some friends who want to record their own version of "give me 4 margaritas..." and I can't imagine a better place than Dos Patrias.
Read moreThis place is so great, I’m not even sure where to start. Ever since we discovered it, we probably pick up takeout 2-3x/month.
While there are a TON of Mexican restaurants in this area, most that I’ve tried are lackluster (food, service) or expensive or both.
First and foremost, the food at Dos Patrias is excellent. Our favorite is the chicken Milanesa but we’ve also tried the carnitas, steak fajitas, and chicken enchiladas and greatly enjoyed all of them. It’s not just the main course - the sides of refried beans, red rice, and fresh tortillas are also delicious.
For such a tasty meal, it also provides great value. You get a huge portion of almost anything you order (meal and a half for me, if not a bit more), and I believe most entrees are below $15.
What really takes it over the top is the people/service. Every time I’ve called, every time I’ve come in, every single person I’ve interacted with has been friendly, kind, and courteous.
As long as Dos Patrias is around, they’ll be my go-to Mexican restaurant...
