There is no other flan in this world for me now.

At checkout, she wished me a merry Christmas. I told her: "Yes, that is exactly what this will be for!"

And so it was.

I knew it would be good from the moment it was brought out. Actually tasting it was still a revelation because the texture was perfect. It is easy for the edges of even a good flan to get lumpy or grainy. Custards are like that sometimes. This flan wasn't like that at all.

I've never had one so absolutely perfect. Not everyone knows how to do this. I am very grateful and deeply respect anyone as good at what they do as the people who work here obviously are.

I wanted to share something good with my roommates for Christmas and this was both sweet and full of grace just like the name of the shop.

Angela was amazing!!!! We were in search of a way to send our mom a rosca for Dia de los reyes! She is alone in Colorado and we are in California! I noticed La Dulce does online orders but I didn't see Rosca on the menu obviously we were already a day passed Jan 6. So I decided to call and ask if they had any and would there be a way that I could place an order online but they send the rosca instead. I explained the situation to Angela she asked me for our moms address she found out it was only about 1 mile away so she offered to drop it off for us!!! I could not believe it when she said she would take it. It meant so much to our mom to continue her tradition even though she's away from us. On a cold, that is, a very cold night, when you have to have boleo to go with the vegetable stew you're going to eat, I Google mapped bakeries while in this area and found this gem.

The senorita at the front counter was so nice and helpful. She asked me how I found them and thanked God that I had visited. So sweet.

She helped me with my order grabbing four boleos, two empanadas de piña, and two empanadas de calabasa. They were SO delicious. The boleo are crusty on the outside and pull-apart fluffy on the inside and the empanadas are full of filling.
