Taste is subjective. It was early in the morning and we all needed some caffeine to start our long weekend of shenanigans in Colorado, plus we needed somewhere to eat our Big Mama’s Burritos. Sammy drove us here since it wasn’t too far away and she likes their italian soda. We walked in and I instantly got antique vibes. From the style of the logo to the antique stuff everywhere, it’s a sure sign this place is also a place of the owner’s passion for old things. You may get a small hint of that vibe in the photos below, but due to limited space, I couldn’t upload all the photos I took. Anywho, I ordered my usual americano and in talking to the barista (and possibly owner) cause he commented on my shirt… he said the americano had a hint of wine and something else to it. It’s the first time I’ve been told an americano would have any hint of flavor besides varying degrees of bitterness. After talking to him for a bit and getting my drink, Emily and I sat down to dig into our drinks and burritos. A few sip into my americano and I knew I wasn’t the biggest fan of the flavor blend I was told about (I’ve since forgotten what exactly he said). It wasn’t bad but it just wasn’t for me. After about half the drink, I got used to it but not something I would go out of my way to order again. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their drinks (and burritos) so we packed up and hit the road for more shenanigans. While we were sitting there, Sammy told me that there is a garage in the back that is open for people to use. I’ve been to many coffeehouses and this is the first that has a working garage area for the public to use. In fact, as we were sitting there, waiting for coffee, we saw a handful of people walk out of the back area but I just assumed it was the owner with friends/contractors. Turns out… I was way wrong. Since it was an open-to-the-public area, I did include a photo of the work area below. They say taste is Subjective and that is true for trying any new place. While this place didn’t have an americano that I was gaga over, it did provide a very unique experience for us all.

I came here with every intention of getting some reading done, but I can't lie, I was distracted by everything. There was one barista and he had a line almost out the door. While he was super kind and attentive, the wait time for each person was a bit excessive. There also happened to be a group gathering, so there were people everywhere, standing, sitting, wherever they could fit...however with that being said, everyone was respectful and I'm not sure if it was the chill music or the overall vibe in general, but everyone was very quiet...and that's not even the right word for what I'm trying to say. You honestly just have to go and experience it. It was absolutely beautiful. For being so busy, I felt so relaxed and where else can you say you have the best of both worlds? And the decor is so cute! I love the plants + tvs because it really takes me back to my childhood. It's like being in the 90s...but like a boho-ey, modern twist version. If that makes sense? Lavender Latte: 10/10 - it was absolutely delicious Veg Breakfast Burrito: 4/10 - it honestly wasn't my favorite. They get them from bonfire burritos and I don't know if it's just how it was warmed up but the tortilla was too squishy for me. Once I left it out for awhile it was better, but it's sad it had to be cold for me to enjoy it. But that's just my preference/opinion. They also have a couple of little displays where you can buy handcrafted items such as candles, bath salts, teas, and honey.

So been coming here for as long as they have been open. One of their first customers. So I was there last week and got my usual. A dry super dry cappuccino. So foam and expresso, well barely any foam. It was more like a cafe con leche. It seems like the only one that couple make my coffee correct no longer works there aka Rich. I also purchased a tiramisu croissant which have always been phenomenal. Not this time, barely a dollop of cream, unlike the good amount on priors. I email the establishment to receive a very interesting reply from the proprietor or GM, telling me how I should have order my coffee the proper way. Lol He was willing to refund my coffee, but not the pastry bcs it’s a third party product. Interesting you are willing to sale third party products, but not bk then. Seems like bad business to me. Oh well onto another place.

Okay so we were STOKED that a new coffee shop was opening near us a year or 2 ago. And we went in and initially we were slightly disappointed because the coffee was a bit underwhelming.

That has changed! For the better!

Over the last year they've really upped their craft. Like an order of magnitude. On Tuesdays they roast their own coffee :mind_blown:. It is fantastic. There is a nice complexity to it, never seems burnt, super smooth and fairly bold, with deep flavors. Our go-to's to test cafe's are 1. espresso, 2. Iced Latte, 3. Iced Mocha.

The espresso is great - again complex, bold, good mix of flavors.

The latte is made with the espresso but the milk calms it a bit to express some of the more subtle flavors, again great.

The mocha tests the barista to get over the minimum bar beyond pulling a shot. At some point they got this down, mixing the chocolate and the espresso while hot to get everything to mix/melt/blend, and then pouring into the milk, and lastly adding ice. Right on point, their chocolate is good, it mixes in well, does not have a wretched solid layer at the bottom (see mixing). As the ice is last does not end up horribly watered down or with a water/thin layer on top.

They've upped their game, and are worth a visit 100%.

Baristas are good - Rich if he is there is fantastic, and super nice. The other baristas are pretty good too.

Again, they roast on Tuesdays, so hit them up Tuesday afternoon (the neighborhood will smell like roasting coffee) or Wednesday for some on point freshly roasted coffee. Even through the week it's still delicious, but if you're in the mood to journey for something exceptional - Tuesday afternoon / Wednesday is...
