Hana Matsuri Sushi is the first place that I have investigated in the area for sushi. I've been visiting from WA. I warn you now, I am not sure you can fully trust my opinions about price. You will have to be the judge of fairness here. I was happy immediately upon arrival. The only thing that keeps me from calling it cozy is the fact that it was quite crowded, but not overly so. The atmosphere is cool and uplifting and the lighting I found quite lovely. Not too bright but plenty of light to see well. What a great place to have a relaxing dinner with family. There appears to be a full bar in the restaurant, however, it is an all ages welcome kinda place. They even sang a birthday song for a young person. The general Energy was wonderful. I found it a little bit too crowded for me but I could see that it was more than comfy for most folks. The Service was very good. I asked if I could order food to go and was immediately given a menu and an order forms that was easy to use. The gentleman who provided the menu offered me a glass of water while I waited and he brought it and a napkin to me in the little foyer. A different gent came to pick up my order.. I got a cucumber salad, a mango roll and a Veggie roll. (The menu options were fabulous and inside the menu there was a page of pictures of the different choices - Cool! ) My food was ready so fast I only had time to drink about a quarter of my water. 🌞 I found this to be quite a pleasurable first experience. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is a combination of a) $$ My dinner was $26. I had intended on eating half for dinner and the rest for lunch. I was not satisfied until I had eaten the Veggie roll and most of the mango one. And b) I have MS as does Mom so I am always looking for good finger foods. Sushi is great. The sticky rice wasn't sticky and what is usually a 2 bite morsel had to be eaten in a single bite because both rolls just fell apart no matter how gently handled. The size kind of took care of it for me. They were small enough to do so. The food here is wonderful but for me this is now a special occasion kind of place. This lovely dinner compared to my PacNW home was half the food for twice the price. Definitely Worth it. You just can't beat great atmo and better Service. Thank you, Hana Matsuri Sushi. It was a grand pleasure making your acquaintance. Can hardly wait til...
Read moreFinally got to go for lunch here. I got the bento box and sesame chicken for me my adult niece and her two daughter's, 7 and 9. My niece ordered two sushi rolls, the Beauty & the Beast Roll and the Curtis roll. My great niece loved the Beauty and Beast Roll which shocked both of us because it has shrimp tempura, cucumber inside, avocado, big eye tuna and BBQ EEL on top w/eel sauce. My niece liked the Curtis roll because it didn't have rice, she is trying to avoid carbs as much as possible. It has Spicy tuna mix and cream cheese wrapped in a deseeded jalapeno and tempura fried. It was too spicy for my great niece who was 9. Funny my niece did not like the spicy tuna roll. I think it was the texture but she did like the spicy tuna in the Curtis roll that had spicy tuna in it. You need to try different things. The both lunches came with miso soup and salad with a reddish dressing that was a little sweet. You don't get a choice on dressing, only if you want it or not. It also comes with a 4 piece California roll and 4 pieces of tempura, 1 shrimp, 1 egg plant about 3-4 inches long and a mushroom cap and someone ate the fourth thing before I saw it. The sesame chicken lunch had deep fried chicken with special chef sauce and 4 pieces of California roll or spicy tuna roll. I liked the spicy tuna roll. Both lunches also came with a small bowl of white rice which my great nieces pounced on. We just put everything in the middle of the table and shared. They give each person a kidney shaped plate with a condiment cup of soy sauce and chop sticks....
Read moreWe found this place by accident today. We were going to eat at Ana's since it got good reviews and said online it was open today. However, when we arrived, the sign said it is closed on Mondays. Coming inside, the restaurant is very inviting. It feels very relaxed and has a good vibe. Great place to come and have a casual meal. The service is really good and most, if not all, the staff have been there a minimum 3 years. Our server was very personable, Polina, but did not introduce herself, so it wasn't until I looked at the receipt that I knew her name. The calamari is fantastic! The tempura batter on them was nicely seasoned and light. The calamari on the inside was nice and tender, so well cooked. All rings, no tentacles. That would be my suggestion: make it an option at least to have tentacles included. So based on the calamari alone, I was looking forward to the sushi. The rolls were beautiful. They were also tasty, but I will say, the sauce was a little unbalanced for my taste. There was a touch too much umami and not quite enough sweetness to balance. One person in our party had a bentonite box and said that the sauce overpowered their salmon. The drink you see is a pear sake martini. Very tasty! Don't drink it too fast unless you want to get tipsy right away. So compared to Go Fish, the calamari was better, but the rolls were a...
