Wanted to share my experience with this bakery.. Family was coming from out of town to celebrate Easter a bit late (it worked for everyone's schedules).
Called to place an order for 1 coconut cream and 1 cherry pie. (I was able to give a week's notice). I thought the prices were competitive for homemade and the individual I spoke to who took the order was pleasant on the telephone.
I arrived to pick up my pies the morning of our planned dinner. The inside of the bakery had that small business charm...
While waiting for them to box up the pies, I noticed in the case some cinnamon rolls (my MIL & FIL LOVE cinnamon rolls) so I picked up some for the family as a treat.
The boxes had a clear top and when they handed them to me, I thought they looked amazing!!!! I took them out to the car while waiting for them to make some coffee (which I also purchased) as well as bagging up the rolls.
The first words out of my partner's mouth was, "those look pretty"... it is VERY rare for him to notice something like this, let alone make a comment... so I was impressed.
We warmed up the cinnamon rolls once I got home and they were amazing! Just a hint of vanilla in the glaze was so yummy!!!
Later, after Easter dinner, we cut up and served the pies.. they were DELICIOUS!!!! My FIL went back for 3rds!! Everyone in the family raved about the pies....
So.. long story short.... I would highly recommend this...
Read moreDisappointing to say the least...offensive to say the most. I've lived a block away from this bakery since it opened more than a decade ago. It has changed owners a couple times since Julie the original owner, and I thought I'd give the new owner a try since I was on a walk today. Tiramisu was a huge disappointment, nothing home made about this dessert. The whipped cream, as it was described to me, is not even real whip cream. Yuk. The raspberry almond bar was good. Ample serving for two or more to share, and it tastes good. Very sweet but we enjoyed it. I would have preferred it not so sweet. The biggest issue by far though...was the rude treatment by an employee who made a very inappropriate comment to me when I said "we'll have one tiramisu and one raspberry bar", which elicited the response "WE'LL have??", with a sideways glance. I took me a moment to realize the innuendo in her comment, as I was shopping alone. Did you catch it??? No need to shame here...she knows...
Read moreWe love to travel around and visit small bakeries and cafes. Today we dropped in on sweets of inspiration and had a wonderful experience.
Erica, the owner, was extremely pleasant and accommodating, even moving an indoor table outside into the Sun so we could enjoy our food and drinks with the dogs on the patio.
I had a breakfast burrito with sausage and green chili both in and on it and it was a meal and a half and utterly delicious. My partner had the breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon and when I looked up it was gone and she had a giant smile on her face.
We both got coffees in eclectic mugs and shared a cream puff.
Highly recommend this local bakery for coffee, breakfast, lunch, and general hanging out in a cool place.
Thank you Erica and staff for a wonderful morning and we will surely see you...
