Wow such a beautiful and nice place overall really impressed. Came here for a school field trip through a French club and overall really satisfied with the service and food.
This place was well decorated with candles and the lighting everything here was be eh aesthetic. Along with their kind workers which are helpful and accommodating.
The French onion soup was overall really good and had a nice cheesy top it. Definitely warm and more towards the oily side but it reminded me of an onion pizza but in soup form.
The mixed greens with Dijon vinaigrette was pretty standard i would’ve added a bit more dressing but still very nice.
The stuffed chicken breast was sooo tasty with it cheesy layer surrounded by this crunch fried crust. It is a smaller portion but it really was gooey and delicous.
The braised beef stew in red wine was next I asked for mine to be made without the red wine though. Overall so incredibly yummy with it texture and flavor. I loved how they topped it off with mushrooms and the flavor here was so impressively good. The meat was nice and tender. Probably my favorite
Next the Brussels sprouts which weren’t bad but i never completely loved them but the restaurant defineltu put in effort to make them taste good and I was happy but I wouldn’t pick it.
The truffle fries were amazing since they were light but had good flavor and was topped of with a little cheese.
Then the final dish which was dessert the crème brûlée which was so nice and light and airy. It was a little bit thinner but it was torched on top and it had strawberries and powdered sugar. I did really like it but wish it had a thicker layer but still very nice.
The iced teas here were great too.
Overall all the foods had amazing presentation. I do recommend this place such a...
Read moreNeat Kitchen is a very relaxing and delicious dining experience. I have been here about 6 times now and am always thrilled with my meal. I'll admit the service can be a little hit or miss but last night our party of 6 had the best waiter ever. Peter was personable, knowledgeable, attentive but not annoying and had a great smile. The pork wing appetizer is not cheap but was really liked by our table. We had the both the regular and spicier version. Calamari was good but I thought it could have been a bit crispier. The men in my family are fans of the signature burger with the duck egg, the short rib grilled cheese and any taco on the menu. I am glad for the improvement to the Caesar salad which used to be big chunks of romaine, a good dressing but not much else. The lettuce is now chopped and I enjoyed far more croutons, parmesan and a better flavor all around. I love it with the blackened mahi mahi! My 85 year old mother is hard to please, especially after 2 martinis, but she raved about her Cobb Salad and said it was the best she ever had with bits of bacon and the good stuff in every bite of lettuce! Excellent desserts, good wine, never ending selection of brews and a full bar makes Neat Kitchen one of our very favorites! Check...
Read moreI recently visited Neat Kitchen and Bar in Westmont, Illinois, after booking a reservation in the afternoon. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find the place virtually empty, which didn't create the vibrant atmosphere I was hoping for.
We started our meal with a selection of tacos: shrimp, vegetarian, and baja. Unfortunately, none of them impressed my party. My wife and I both found them lacking in flavor and failed to evoke any excitement. I opted for the crispy chicken bao buns, which were merely satisfactory.
Moving on to the mains, I decided to try the Texican burger, as recommended by our server. However, I was disappointed to find that it lacked the promised flavor and seasoning. The burger fell short of expectations, and I found myself taking only a few bites before deciding to take the rest home.
Overall, Neat Kitchen and Bar is an okay establishment, but it leaves much to be desired in terms of flavor and culinary execution. I would recommend that the chef pay more attention to seasoning and flavor profiles to elevate the dining experience...
