Dolce Restaurant & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Westmont

Made our reservation thru google with OpenTable app, mind you that it didn't ask me for a table of how many; only had an option for dining outdoor or indoor or at the bar. So I had clicked dine indoor same day at 8pm for a family of 5. Upon to our arrival the owner at front had greeted us and asked for our name, I had given our name & told him it is for a table of 5 he said "oh well on here it says 2, but let me get this table ready for you and your family not a problem at all" I had like the fact that he was able to work around with it even though I had mention the app didn't ask me how many people were part of the party. Our server name was Shanna, she was quick, efficient and timely manner for a family of 5 although they were understaff by one waiter/waitress but they made it work to serve everyone in there. I had a plate of Catalpa Grove Lamb Chops which was an amazing dish with great flavor, my wife had Fra’ Diavolo it was a delicious dish although it had quiet a kick on the spicy side, my 3 kids had shared 2 dishes one was Chorizo flatbread and the other was Spaghetti with Shrimp it was big enough for all 3 kids to split. Local owner has made all the right choices here at Dolce. The dining room has a cozy, warm atmosphere in a fairly intimate space. (TV was on over the bar, but at least the sound was muted). Best feature of the space: Owner has added a dropped, acoustic ceiling (painted black), so that we could actually have a nice conversation, in normal tones, with our companions, even as the tables began to fill up around us. HUGE plus! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly (just enough) and especially helpful with wine suggestions, even bringing 2 samples to help with our choice. The food was as good as other reviews state...really wonderful and creative. We were told that because everything is hand made there, that dishes could be customized, creating even more options. Our favorite item was the Blackberry Camembert pizza! Absolutely delicious and quite unique. We ordered it to share (4 people) as an appetizer but it was so rich and sweet, it occurred to me it would make for a wonderful dessert: cheese, fruit, honey on a crust! Next time we will be sure to save that for our final item of our meal....and there definitely will be...

Tonight, the family was able to have the steak taco dinner on Cinco de Mayo, and was very happy with the food. Their menu consists of a great list of appetizers, and for entrées a menu that mainly consists of pasta, salad and pizzas, all with an eclectic flair, accompanied with a great list of wines. It’s a quaint location that produces some high quality, chef inspired choices. Dolce has also become one of the finer dinner establishments in Westmont and one of the leaders in our restaurant community, being one of a few, during the pandemic to take part in bundle meals with other downtown restaurants. This is a fine marketing program that unselfishly helps each of the downtown participating restaurants. It is these reasons why restaurants such as Dolce need to be remembered after...
