Kneads — Restaurant in Westport

Wow just wow! We were visiting from Florida and Kneads was just the perfect cherry on top of an amazing trip.

Luckily it was walking distance from where me my brother wife and baby girl were staying and we went every single day, sometimes twice a day!

The food offerings are superbly gourmet and the coffee selections are delectable. Can’t forget to mention the bakery/desert options!

The grilled chicken wrap and the tomato mozzarella sandwich were divine.

The vanilla late was insane. They even make the vanilla simple syrup in house and showers me the vanilla bean soaking in the simple syrup.

On top of the amazing food and coffee selections, the staff were just phenomenal. Kubo and Kathleen kicked so much butt as fantastic baristas. They even gave my daughter her own tiny to go cup with her name written on it.

The people taking our order were superb. Spacing on their names now but one of their last names was Hansen and there was the dark haired gentleman who really was great.

We all bonded so much!

To top it off I believe the manager who said he has been there several months really was great. We connected over their delicious hazelnut cake which he said has been all the rave recently. I agree!!

We really are looking forward to coming back to Westport but I’ll tell you I’m even more looking forward to dining and hanging at Kneads with my family and the crew.

I read through several reviews because I was surprised at the overall rating. Personally I found this bakery/cafe to be great. Yes it is expensive and yes it is not what you would get at a diner but that’s the point, it is a reimagined version of some staples and they are charging for quality ingredients (at least I trust they are). Bought a few baked goods to try at home, apple pie and cheese tart, both very good. We also stopped for breakfast and were very happy with what we had. You order at the counter and they then bring your food to your table. Condiments, napkins, utensils etc are self serve. I say all of this to set expectations. I like a casual place like this but some may not. We got a side of sourdough bread with butter and it was served in the best way possible for me. Lovely tasty toasted bread with a shmear of butter on the plate and the butter was dusted with flaked salt (perfection for me). The quiche was creamy with a rich crust and nice chunks of asparagus. Salad served with it was large and nicely lightly dressed . Pastrami hash was great. Large chunks if potatoes and some spicy peppers only complaint would be there could be a higher pasrami to potato ratio. By far, the best bakery around, not to mention the absolutely delicious food! Finally, a place to find a wonderful snack, breakfast or lunch. The menu is ever changing, and evolving, keeping things interesting and always delicious, offering marvelous sandwiches, salads + plates. The ingredients are clearly fresh, seasonal, + locally sourced. The husband and wife team behind this establishment are not only masters of their craft; they are kind, knowledgable, welcoming and appreciative of every customer that walks through the door. Their creativity shines through in every baked good, and dish that they offer. In fact, the entire staff is friendly, professional, accommodating, and unpretentious.
