This place has turned into a catering facility and does not care about in person dining. Wasted $60.00 on a hamburger and salad that took 45 mins to make while on a 1 hr lunch break. Ended up having to take it to go, eat it cold and throw away 1/2 of it because no flatware was included. I’ve recommended this place countless times in the past- no more! Will buy my meat at fleschers and make myself.
Responding to Owner- no, I did not complain to manager because I drove off before learning flatware was not included. That was the final straw for me- noting I tipped the lousy service a full 20%. Again- I like the food but for all of the $$ our family spent at your restaurant eating there countless times- and the recommendations we consistently gave sending others in for burgers and lobster rolls- I really felt slighted. The same waiter must have served us 20 other times- but chose to ignore us instead of letting us know there was going to be a significant wait. He literally hid inside while we sat outside wondering what was going on. Not the kind of place I choose to support...
Read moreI liked it overall but several things did not make sense. My wife ordered a 30something dollar lobster roll where there was not much lobste. It came in a big bun with some lobster lost overthere. On the other hand, my daughter gets the lobster slider and it is generous even though it is cheaper. I orderered a special sandwich of the day and comes without any side nor fries nor chips and they don't let me know in advance. That makes me the only one with no sides... My other daughter orders just fries and it is a great portion so we share anyway. Overall was good but the whole experience was not 100%. Also there is no tap water because of some issue that they apologize in advance for but then the sodas are tiny glass bottles and not particularly cheap, the waters are tiny too... Again not a big deal but sort of rubbed me the wrong way with several things during my visit and did not enjoy my self fully. Apparently there is no inside seating, we had to seat outside and ask to please open the shades more because we were toasting in the sun after not being...
Read moreChef Storch does it again. He took two of his popular items from his regular menu and turned them into a theme for a completely different restaurant, more casual but still the same high quality of Match. Lobster rolls are straight-forward but very well prepared with a soft brioche bun, and the double is worth it if you like a lot of lobster on your roll (and the bun gets extra butter saturated as a bonus). I've read that some people think the rolls are "small" but that's only because of the shape of the bun. Put the same amount of lobster on a standard shallow hot dog bun and it will overflow. Besides... then get the double. Honestly I think Matt makes one of the best hot lobster roll's I've eaten, balancing the classic with the new. Burgers are takes on the classic Match burger which frequently sells out at the flagship. Other seafood options like steamers round out the menu. No tap water available but good beverage selection otherwise.
P.S.: Bring back the indulgence burger, chef! (Or keep it on hand...
