The restaurant was gorgeous! Clear attention to detail and decor and no skipping on the overall aesthetic. You can’t beat it especially since it’s steps away from a commuter train station!
I noticed an espresso martini menu in the window which lured me in. I ordered one & the bartender said she never heard of it & didn’t think they had it so I just asked for an original while I waited for the train. The drink came out so quickly there was no way an espresso shot was pulled and if it was batched it’d have to be watered down with simple syrup.
The drink was so bad I couldn’t wait for the train the 25 minutes sitting at the bar. I just called a a car because I couldn’t drink more than a few sips. Overall the drink tasted like a coffee liqueur with no espresso or anything else. It was overly sweet, ice chips were floating on top like icebergs, no foam, no coffee beans, no depth of flavor. The photo you saw was after 3-4 sips…I just couldn’t do it.
Overall despite aesthetics the place gives dive bar vibes as far as noise (midday), quality of service and quality of drinks. Nearby restaurants without espresso martini menus/explicitly offering the drink (or variations) are significantly better.
If you have an espresso martini menu make it look like it’s done properly at least

Read moreWhat started off as one of the most exceptional dinners, and what seemed to be heading towards 5 star review quickly turned when the pizza we had ordered the “Pocannte” pizza because of the Calabria papers, little did we know that sopresseta was a pork sausage. We had ordered all veg items and informed the waiter we didn’t want any meat, with that Info the waiter failed to mention sopressta was meat at the time of ordering. Mistakes happen, but when I informed the waiter that my family does not eat meat/pork the waiter apologized and said he would have it remade without any meat. When the waiter was talking to the chef, who seemed annoyed by the ask, and starts removing the sopressta from the pizza, and puts the pizza to the side. In less then 10 min the same pizza without the sopressta is presented to us, at which point I asked the waiter to pack it up which I later threw out in the trash. I don’t think it’s wise to lose a great reputation over a $13 mistake. Please train your staff to do better, and what if I was allergic to the ingredients of which the residue was still...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious! We had a margarita pizza and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce was pleasantly tomao-y and a little bit of salt from mozzarella cheese! We paired that with the arugula apple salad, fried zucchini sticks, spicy meatballs, beans with sausage and broccoli rabe. Oh, and a glass of pino grigio. We finished with a hot cup of americano! There were four of us, and it was pleanty to share. We were stuffed, so didn't have room for dessert, but I noticed a stack of cannoli shells waiting to be filled upon order. Next time! What's also lovely is that it's right at the Metro North New Haven line Westport Saugatuk train stop. So if you live in one of the towns along the I-95 corridor, including Westchester & NYC, you can take Metro North for an enjoyable ride sans traffic! We sat outside at the sidewalk tables, but there is also plenty of indoor dining and a bar. Priced right! A great spot for families and friends. Kid friendly, too! We did make a reservation, but on a Sunday afternoon, we didn't find it to be crowded, so there wasn't...
