We stayed in the Bayou Seg State Park for 4 nights and purchased shrimp and crabs, crawl fishes every day by different group members from Amy’s seafood market. We found out that the quality of the shrimp and crawl fish were not consistent. There was only one day which had very fresh shrimp and we were able to get the black line easily by tooth pick. It means that the shrimp is really fresh. We steamed those and the way we cooked needs fresh shrimp to make it taste fresh. However once the shrimp was not fresh and we can easily find out. Read more1st off I live an hour & 20 minutes away. I get there & buy a hamper of crabs for $119 which were 60 crabs. Over half were empty so I called & asked to speak with the owner & some lady told me that the owner wasn’t there & the manager was busy but she promise me that the manager would call me back & make it right. That was on Tuesday so I called today & spoke with the manager & she told she is not GOD she can’t control how the crabs are & if I got over half of them full that’s great because it’s not crab season.So I feel like if it’s not crab season WHY are your crabs do HIGH. For instance, and that happened yesterday 9/4 but NOT at Amy's Seafood, if the crabs are barely moving and there is a ton of flies "feasting on them," DO NOT buy and move on to the next stall; Amy's will do just fine!
