WeGeaux Café — Restaurant in Westwego

I went to have lunch with my mother, 3 nieces & my great nephew. When I walked in, knowing my family was there waiting for me, I did not see them right away, it turns out they were seated inside the adjoining room, fine.. my issue started when no one greeted me as I stepped inside and I felt lost. I walked around, finally found my family after going back out as ude then back inside looking for them.. then here comes the food, didn't take too long. But I ordered the taco salad which consist of a taco salad type shell with all the right stuff except the meet was just plan hamburger with no type of taco seasoning on it whatsoever and it costs enough that it could've had more meat (not that it tasted any good at all!) and much less lettuce and other crap on it. It was basically a pile of cold plain lettuce inside a shell for flipping $10! It was gross. I didn't eat it. I felt robbed. I also asked for NO REFRIED BEANS, which it was absolutely FULL OF NASTY BEANS! I COULDN'T HAVE HAD A WORSE EXPERIENCE! WEGEAUX CAFE' IS OVERPRICED FOR NOTHING! TORALLY NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!! ITS WORSE THAN AN ILD GREASY SPOON .. THEY ARE OVERLY BLAND AND NOTHING SEEMS TO HAVE FLAVOR! THEY DON'T EVEN USE ANY SALT AT ALL AND ALL OF MY FAMILY AGREED WITH THIS AS WE EACH HAD A DIFFERENT DISH WHICH WAS ALL BASICALLY TASTELESS. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! I CANT GET MY WASTED $20 BACK FOR THAT ENTIRE MEAL I ORDERED BUT. DIDN'T EAT MIRE THAN 3 BITES OF.. I ORDERED 3 DIFFERENT THINGS.. NO E IF IT WAS SATISFACTORY! BLAH!! I SHALL NOT BE RETURNING! NOT EVER! I NEVER EVEN ONCE WAS OFFERED A DRINK REFILL IN THE ENTIRE HOUR & HALF...

I don't know what happened to this place. I have been there many times. More often than not I have to wait and wait to order and wait and wait and wait e an longer to get my food. Then half the time while the waitress is looking dead at me while telling her what I want she brings out the wrong order. Am I. Not speaking clear enough. She looks rt at me repeats even the order. And still brings something completely different.. The floors and tables nine times out of ten are filthy. Not to mention. The waitress we had got a little too close to the table even bending over very close to my husband when she was taking his order. That was very rude. I do not recommend this place at all. It has gone down hill in a heartbeat. The head got to big. I used to rave about this place. Then the owner somehow started hiring some lack service not to mention. The food portions seem way smaller for the same prices. I think they even charged us for the mess up. Idk. My husband didn't want me to look at the Bill. I think he didn't want me get even more upset. He later told me. He thinks he paid way too much for the little food we got which was cold when we got it. Never never never he told me will we waste our time at wegeaux cafe. Of course I agreed. ...

Server did not want us there, she was put out from the moment we walked in. We sat for 10 minutes trying to keep 3 little children entertained before we even got menus. The food was done fairly quickly but the kids meal didn't come out for a few minutes after. The chicken quesadilla was good and filling for the kids, The salad with Shrimp was large and pretty good, the gumbo was okay but not great. I ordered the Jambalaya with fried shrimp. It was horrible. I covered it in hot sauce just to make it edible. Not at all what I expected. I would be a happy camper if all the restaurants would finish the shrimp by removing the inedible tails. I don't like to stick my fingers in my food to eat. The waitress never came back to see how we were doing. It would be one thing if they were busy, but they were not. I just stopped in for 3 days to visit and had a craving for good jambalaya, such a sad experience. I normally tip 20% but was an exception. Our kids were extremely well behaved and we tried to be friendly...
